Can experienced hubbers tell me more about Hubpages contests?
In the "Help" section, it says that contests are held about every quarter. However when I look at the past contest page, the most recent contest was held last February. The most recent contests before that one took place in 2012.
So I guess my question is....are contests really a thing on Hubpages? If so, how often are they really held?
Hi Leigh, As of right now there are currently no contests going on. You get a weekly newsletter from HubPages that will inform you if any contests become available. It is the newsletter with your profile percentage, questions percentage, and profile views for the week.
Contests would come when the business is going fine or when competition seems to be tough. Now Web content business is in bad shape. Competitors have been virtually wiped out (Helium, Suite101 etc) or bought out (Squidoo). So it looks to me that contests may not be seen in the near future.

I wish we could be informed of important changes/rules via an email. I check out the Forums each day, but a lot of Hubbers do not. I'm sure those folks miss a lot of important information.
