How can a Hub go from "featured" to "Not featured due to quality?

I have 4 Hubs that are over two years old. These are "evergreen" hubs, and they've always been "featured". I deleted quite a few hubs, and suddenly these same hubs that are over 2 years old are now "Not featured due to quality."

I think that as time goes on and people come less and less to a certain hub page, it gets unfeatured after a while.

yes, when less people visit your hubs, no traffic to meet the min views, it will go unfeatured

It should not become not featured for lack of quality just because there is not traffic to them.

Hi Kathy.....Think of your hubs like they are children.  When you first bring them home, they are the absolute center of attention.  Everyone makes a fuss and wants to hold him/her.  A brand new beautiful baby.  A miracle.   Then as time marches on......well, you know the rest of the story.
I would like to assure you, if you go in and give it a bath, shampoo & put a cute outfit on it........maybe teach it how to be "sweet" or something......in a few hours, that baby will be featured again.
I've never had this fail.....Good Luck!  & "Have a wonderful New Year."  Peace, Paula

They became not featured due to "quality", not lack of engagement.

If I'm not mistaken. It's been said that featured hubs can eventually become Unfeatured due to Quality for a few reasons. One I believe was mentioned was out-dated or changed facts.  Am I wrong? I'm sure I read this at one point.

These aren't out of date. They are all herbal healing hubs, and are evergreen material.  Personally, I think it's because I deleted 110 hubs. Before that, all my hubs were featured.

was it due to quality? or lack of engagement? I know lack of engagement happens periodically and usually a few quick tweaks will get it featured again without much fuss.

If they are marked due to quality, then I would see maybe if you have more than the allowed number of links to products or your own website or something? It could be the filter just now picked it up and unfeatured them.

I've read your hubs in the past and enjoyed them and found them informative, so I am quite confident it isn't grammar/spelling all of that.

They did become not featured for "quality", which is confusing because they are two years old. I will check them out for the links like you said. Thank you.

Perhaps a different editor on the Hub Pages team is monitoring the hubs.

As Christin says, a few tweaks will often do the trick to get them featured again.

Wishing you every success in 2015!

I did tweak a couple. We'll see what happens.
