Mine now says 45 years or earlier now. Is that a sign. Maybe the world is about to crash as we know it lol. It almost would be a blessing and quite interesting to say the least.

The "45 years" glitch was fixed, but now it is back again. I think the stats have been updated a little more recently than 45 years.

Yes, very funny.  Actually, it says 45 years ago and "earlier"--wow!  I thought I was in a time warp...can't wait to see what they do on April 1.  Either way, laughing is good for the soul!

The word 'data' precedes the Internet by....who knows, probably a hundred years.   So if you have some information of some type it can be referred to as data.  It doesn't matter in the least if it is forty-five years old.

My 1950 Concise English Dictionary has the word, 'Data,' in it.  It says, see 'Datum.'  Datum reads: Thing known or granted, assumption or premise, from which inferences may be drawn.

Oh, how the modern generation has changed the meanings of so many words.  Big job ahead of 'em though.  The Oxford contains about 500,000 words!

Kind of- ARPANET had its first two nodes connected ("went live") in 1969.  So it depends on how you define "The Internet."
