I try to target long tail keywords to start with so I know my article are slightly niche related. Then I tend to use social media but I'm not too sure how effective this is because I can't control my intended audience. I've been thinking about starting a blog to link to a niche site (which I can also use hub pages to link to) so would love some feedback on this idea.
I do think writing long, quality content will help you get noticed but in my experience it takes time for my hubs to slowly climb the rankings organically. I hear guest blogging is excellent but I haven't used it yet nor am I entirely sure where to start!
Lastly, I answer a lot of questions related to my hub on Yahoo answers and then leave a link to the hub underneath.
