Has anyone else seen a drop in payment?

I'm sure its been talked about before, but my views per day have been fairly steady for the last year or so and yet my payments have been varied over the last few months. Has anyone else seen this as well? I just want to make sure I haven't done anything to my account without realizing it.

Oh yeah!  It's been that way for months.  You probably didn't do anything wrong.  It's the way things are set up here now.  I'm not too happy about it either.  I used to make a lot of money with my articles than I do now....

I just wanted to make sure I didn't accidentally mess with my settings. I don't depend on the income so it isn't that big of a deal, its just a little frustrating when it was so consistent last year. Thanks!

I totally agree.  I'm frustrated about it too, as I'm sure many of us are.  Some of us actually consider this an extra, needed income.

Summer is usually pretty slow. I usually take a big hit, but my income is up this summer, although traffic is down. I haven't figured out why, but I'll take it! With that said, I wouldn't worry about it too much this time of year.

It just been steady low numbers for earnings for the last few months. Last year it was fairly consistent no matter the season. I guess we'll never know how things are calculated here. Thanks!

Yeah, I can't figure it out! As long as something is coming in, I guess that's good, and we can always hope for better days, huh? :-)

I honestly haven't recovered from the Google Panda update yet, nevermind the 4 other ones since then. I used to get a check every month and a payout from Amazon every month, now with Hub terms changed canceling out my cash cow hubs and a lack of viewers and being able to even rank on the 2nd page of google for keywords *used to be on first page for many hubs* I can't seem to see a check coming out of anywhere.

Payments can vary due to number of views, that's an obvious one, but you can also have a change in CPM which is to do with clicks per thousand views. CPM changes and this will affect payments.
This is also related to the geographical nature of those views and the ads connected to the country. So if you have more views from, say the USA, likelihood is you'll get a slightly higher CPM compared to views from other countries.
As an example, I have a seasonal hub focused on UK viewers - to do with making a natural flower cordial/champagne - and I got many views - but the CPM went down because of this so I didn't get the increase in payment I presume due to the geographical/ad factor.
I'm no expert mind so double check if you want to do your own research! All the information is on Google Webmaster. It's a good idea to pop in to Webmaster every so often to check for potential issues and the like.
