How many comments have you recieved from outside of hubpages?

    How many comments have you recieved from outside of hubpages?

    I've been here about a year and have yet to receive any comments from people other than hubbers. I know from the stats that I have gotten traffic from google and other sources. Just wondering what others have experienced. Thanks. BTW, I do think the comment module is a bit confusing. It is not obvious that anyone can submit a comment, even without a hubpages account.

    I wouldn't be so focused on that, I've been here for three years and probably have less than a dozen. Another thing to keep in mind is that you can check your own statistics and not rely so much on the comments to get a better idea of your traffic and their sources. It's quite common for not only hubbers but also non-hubbers to read but not comment.

      I'm not so much worried about getting feedback on my hubs as wondering if the comment module is poorly designed so as to discourage outsiders from commenting. They might think they need to sign up to HubPages in order to participate.

      Good point, HP does require a small amount of info even for non-hubber comments and even this could discourage people from commenting whether they are lazy or have nefarious intent.

    Over the 4 years here my outside interactions are maybe half a dozen with older now deleted hubs. With pursing about I know of one Hubber who gets many outside comments. Some Hubs more outside than inside. Eddie Carrara writing Auto Hubs.

      Thanks for the feedback. I guess it does depend on the topic of the hub. I was just wondering if outsiders were discouraged from commenting somehow...

    Hundreds and hundreds, but it really depends on the content of the hub!
