Have you heard of a site called http://encyclopedial.com/? I found one of my articles there today.

I began copying the titles to other articles and pasting them into our HP search box.  Every article I checked was from HubPages.  Here is the URL for the site. http://encyclopedial.com/  It appears this person has targeted HubPages and is stealing a lot of our work.  FYI, there are comment boxes at the end of each article.

You are absolutely right! In fact, tons of Hubpages articles are copied, even the pictures. Hope someone will look into this.

they stole my most popular article last month. i emailed them, asking them to take it down and they did in less than a day.

i think they're counting on those writers who don't check their hubpages accounts.

The whois.domaintools info lists the same e-mail address for the site's "Admin," "tech," and "registrant" ... umkan@hotmail.com
Dunno if sending him DMCA's to that address will do any good, but we can always spam the hell out of him with gay porn. smile

cam....I went to this site. I recognize numerous titles there of hubs written, word for word by our fellow-hubbers.  However, the author (or authors) of this site very boldly admits to being a member of hubpages, if I'm reading it correctly.  How can this be?  Every article shows that it is posted by "Admin"  ????  Is it possible this person thinks he/she is perfectly entitled to copy hubs and place them on this Encyclopedia site w/o giving credit to the original author?  Can anyone be so bold & brazen a thief & admit they write for HP OR just this stupid OR know exactly what they're doing?
    I really don't get it!

LOL....I saw at least one of yours Keith, maybe more.  I was in shock at how many titles I recognized by our fellow writers.  I spent a bit of time on there.  He/She writes about HP in general & being a member!!!

I couldn't resist, I left this comment on the one I found:
"I hope you didn't hurt your back when you lifted this article which I wrote on HubPages.com and posted it as your own work on this crappy site. Remove it immediately if not sooner!"

Awesome.  If he leaves the articles up, the people who visit his site will be able to read your comment.  That will be nice publicity for him.

I upped my game this morning. I went back to both of my articles that he's stolen and commented, "I’m going to keep coming back to this page and telling everyone what a F***ING THIEF you are until it’s taken down."

I believe encyclopedial.com is having some difficulties.  First, they haven't posted an article since December 10.  Second, I can't access their site.  I only get a blank screen. My internet is slow, but I'm accessing other sites with no problem.

Yep, I'm getting a blank page there too. I hope this means that they've been crushed under the weight of multiple DMCA's by pissed off hubbers!!

I did see that the site was for sale.  Let's hope it doesn't pop up again with a new owner.

The following link was provided to me by WordPress, whom I contacted because the person we are discussing uses WordPress for his blog.  WordPress is in no way connected to this person.  Here is the link to the site where you can see probably hundreds of HP articles, http://whois.domaintools.com/encyclopedial.com

Here is the email address WordPress gave me to file a complaint,
abuse-contact@publicdomainregistry.com .  It is an automated email, so I doubt anything will come of that.  In their automated response, they directed me to the following site and form to file my complaint:
    http://publicdomainregistry.com/report-abuse-complain/ .

Here is a bit of interesting information though.  Follow this link to learn more about encyclopedial.com..... http://whois.domaintools.com/encyclopedial.com

The bottom line is that I don't yet have an email adress to which I can send a DMCA.  I encourage anyone who has been wronged by these people to at least fill out the form on http://publicdomainregistry.com/report-abuse-complain/ .

I left a comment at the end of my story on encyclopedial.com. It was removed quickly. I joined their feed. Eight articles were added today as of 6:40pm.  There are 164 pages on the site equalling 1640 articles. I estimate more than half are HP hubs.

I've found two of my articles on this site so far and have left suitably angry comments on both of them. I signed them "Pissed off Hubber.". Still skimming thru to see if there are more....
