My blood has been harvested for so many years
I am but human, so what do you fear?
Like your shadow that touched your mother at birth
I feel as if I were holding you first
My thirst for immortality eludes my flesh
Out of this shell exudes my breath
Like a moment in time you wish you were there
I am the young boy that was hoping you cared
The lady who lost sleep just to gaze in your eyes
Like Christ in the flesh, betrayed by a lie
Not knowing tommorow, only the past
Not first of a dying breed, only the last

    Roses are red,
    Violets are blue,
    I am bad at poems
I'm not as good as you!

Not first of a dying breed, only the last

Like frayed and tattered wings heard nigh
    Flying on life's whispered sigh
I long to cling to slivered hope
Whilst meandering down life's fecund slope

Just when I thought all hope was gone
I looked onto the horizon to see the dawn
Each new day is a chance to start over
With hope, faith, and a three leaf clover
Not that I am big on luck or chance
I just refuse to be a victim of circumstance
