Seeking Input from Hubbers

    Hi!

Just an introduction, call me Bob, btw. I am a returning Hubber (former Squid) and with the sale of HP to Maven I think it's time I write again, but I want to move in a different direction for now. My current Hubs are getting some attention, but they need updating for sure. I actually received my first payout several months ago so I believe in the platform and in my writing ability but, you know, we all need to push ourselves to grow unless forced to, right?

Anyway, enough of that, here is my idea and I am curious what other Hubbers think of it.

I would like to do some creative writing but having a history of playing IF (Interactive Fiction) back in the day I wondered if HP would be the place for starting a story then using polls and reader comments to move the story along.

Would that kind of story "fit" in HP?
    Might it be considered "spammy?"
Are other Hubbers doing it already, and is that good or bad?

Thanks in advance for considering this question, I appreciated it greatly as I know your days are as busy as mine and your knowledge did not come without effort.

    Bob Z.

Fiction is notorious for doing poorly on HP.  Some people have had a bit of luck with it, and you're certainly welcome to try, but the thing now is to get your work on the niche sites if you want to rank well and earn some money.  You would do better to write articles that answer people's questions or give them information they might be seeking.

Hi Bob, I remember those interactive fantasy books from years ago and loved reading them as a teenager, but I think video games took their place and made them somewhat a thing of the past.
I don't see why it isn't worth a try though, especially as Letterpile is specifically for original fiction and poetry now.
As Timetraveler2 said though, fiction doesn't do as well as how to and instructional articles here. that said, I write mainly poetry and short fiction and my traffic and earnings have increased greatly in recent months. Good luck.
