And just running my website ad-free.

Can anyone suggest reputable AdSense alternatives?

I use Monumetric, but they require minimum 10k views per month (and you have to pay for setup) or over 80k a month (free setup).

You might want to consider Chitika. However, like other Adsense alternatives, it has certain shortcomings.

You are probably familiar with AdSense alternatives such as Adblade, Clicksor, Infolinks, PulsePoint, and Tribal Fusion. Here are six facts that set Chitika apart from the competition and make it one of the best alternatives to Google AdSense:

    1. Unlike most of the competition, Chitika is both a “search query driven” and a “contextual ad” network. In other words, they display ads that are well-matched to the keywords that visitors type into search engines as well as to your website's content. This is in sharp contrast to some AdSense alternatives that display ads based on a website’s general category. For example, if your site’s topic is “low APR credit cards,” these publisher networks might serve ads related to “prepaid debit cards,” “online checking accounts,” or even “debt relief.” Historically, ads that are not “search query driven” or “contextually-based” have a poor click-through-rate (CTR).

With Chitika, you have the best of both worlds.

    2. Chitika's approval process for new publishers generally takes one business day.

    3. Some of Chitika's competitors require that websites have a monthly traffic minimum in order to qualify for an account. Here are some examples:

Adblade – at least 500,000 monthly impressions

AdPepper - at least 50,000 unique monthly visitors

Adtregity - at least 500,000 monthly page views

    Advertising.com – at least 300,000 monthly visitors

Burst Media - at least 5,000 unique monthly visitors or 25,000 monthly page views

BuySellAds - at least 100,000 monthly impressions

Clicksor – at least 50,000 monthly impressions

Conversant – at least 3,000 monthly page views

Tribal Fusion - at least 500,000 monthly visitors

Vibrant Media - at least 500,000 monthly impressions

Unlike any of these AdSense alternatives, Chitika does not have a monthly traffic minimum. (If you're a small to medium-sized publisher, Chitika could be the solution you've been looking for.)

    4. Some of Chitika's competitors have $25, $50, and even $100 payment thresholds for PayPal. Here are some examples:

    Adblade - $100

    AdEngage - $50

    AdPepper - $50

    Advertising.com - $25

    Burst Media - $50

    Clicksor - $50

    Conversant - $25

    Infolinks - $50

    Kontera - $50

    LinkWorth - $25

    Media.net - $100

    RevenueHits - $50

    SuperLinks - $50

    Technorati - $50

    Tribal Fusion - $50

    WidgetBucks - $50

Unlike any of these AdSense alternatives, Chitika has a low payout minimum of $10 for PayPal.

    5. Some of Chitika's competitors process payments on a net-45, net-60, or net-90 schedule. What this means is that they have up to 45, 60, or 90 calendar days to pay their publishers. Here are some examples:

    Adbrite - Net 60

    Burst Media - Net 45

    Conversant – Net 60

    Infolinks – Net 45

    Innity - Net 60

    Komoona - Net 60

    Kontera – Net 45

    OpenX - Net 90

    PulsePoint - Net 45

    Technorati - Net 60

    Tribal Fusion – Net 45

    Trion - Net 60

    Vibrant Media – Net 45

    Yellow Hammer - Net 60

Unlike any of these AdSense alternatives, Chitika processes payments on a “net-30” schedule.

    6. Because almost 80% of Internet users search the web with a smartphone, Chitika recently improved its landing pages to be responsive and compliant with mobile devices. As a result, Chitika publishers have seen higher yields because of a click-through-rate (CTR) increase of up to 50%.

Here are some of Chitika's shortcomings:

    1. Chitika has a lower earnings–per-click (EPC) than AdSense. However, they do have a higher EPC than many other AdSense alternatives.

    2. You will probably have better results with Chitika if your website offers a product or service. For example, if your website’s theme is “smooth jazz artists” or “19th-century American poets,” you will probably earn less from Chitika as a publisher than if your site is about “prepaid debit cards” or “new and used car reviews and ratings.”

    3. You will likely earn more revenue from Chitika if your website’s traffic is primarily from the USA and Canada.

    4. You will probably have better results with Chitika if the lion's share of your website’s traffic comes from search engines. This is because a considerable number of Chitika’s ads are “search query driven.”
