      Hello, welcome,

This is a site (& forum) for writers. There may be a few farmers among us, but you'll probably see a lot of tumbleweeds in this thread.

Edit: I took a look at your first hub. It will probably be rejected because it is too short. HubPages is looking for informative, magazine-style articles. It's not a blogging platform.

      That's a pretty broad question.
I see that you are also a part time writer, so I assume you will write about your experiences.
Though I am not a farmer, we did move to a rural area 20 years ago and have had large vegetable gardens, fruit trees  as well as chickens and ducks.
My broad answer to your question is : don't try to do everything at once.
You first should do a lot of reading, as well as talking to local people in your area who know what works and what doesn't.
You might start with three or four hens (after you have established a suitable habitation  for them), and maybe  a trial vegetable garden.  Plant a few seeds and plants. See what does well for you, then expand from there.

If he lives in the Yukon, all of his hens are going to die during the winter (unless he brings them into his house).
As you pointed out, this is a broad question. Too broad to help, in my opinion.

Oh, I did not see that.
Perfect place to start with a small flock then.

That is like asking: "I work in an office. What should I do?" Not very helpful. If you are a beginning farmer you have to decide what you want to do based on your land, the region you work in, etc. Do you want to work with livestock or crops? Can you purchase machinery? Do you just dream of being a farmer but live in the city?
And, as theraggededge points out, this is a site for writers. There are a lot of forums where you may get useful information from forums. This is not really one of them.
