Take a Note?

I was just on my stats page and accidentally clicked somewhere up near the header and a box came up that was for taking notes.  It had the Hubpages H and said take a note and I could type in it.  I clicked off it to see where it came from and lost it and haven't been able to figure out where it might have come from.  Does anyone know anything about this?  I'd love to have somewhere on HP to take notes and keep track of different things.

The notes button is on Chrome Browser when looking your Gmail. It is one of three additional buttons added by them to facilitate people. One button is for instantly taking notes, another for creating events in Calendar, and the third one for performing tasks.
But how could it be found on the Statistics page of HP? You might have clicked somewhere else out of HP site.

I suppose anything's possible.  I'm not the most internet savvy so it's not unusual that I hit something that causes an unfamiliar screen or box to open without any idea if what I did.  Thanks for the reply.  Maybe just wishful thinking.  For a long time I've wanted some sort of note taking function to be included on the stats page to record changes, niche submissions and status and plans for future updates. Maybe also ideas for new articles. So then I wouldn't have to download and exit the stats table or go back and forth between HP and excel.  Have a great day!

Do you use Google Chrome? If so, you can do it easily. Take notes on Gmail tab and view your HP page also, clicking the tabs alternatively without having to close.

Right, but the point is I don't want to have to switch back and forth between tabs.  I would like to be able to view my data while taking notes.  Thanks.

I don’t see any links like that. Maybe it’s a feature of your browser. Are you sure it was on the stats page? Maybe it was higher up in the browser tools section. Just a guess.

No it had the HP "H" logo. I wish I had figured it out before clicking off of it.

The HP H logo is probably taken from the favicon of the website. The thing that shows on your tab in your browser too. So any addon (browser app) that you have could easily show up with the H icon. It need not be something from HP just because it has the HP logo. It is important to know this, because this can also be used in phishing scams.

Huh, thanks.  I haven't ever seen the H on my browser tabs before (don't know if it matter that I'm on a chromebook browser).  How can this be used in a phishing scheme?  Thanks

Many people open phishing emails and see a website similar to what they are familiar with and put in their personal info.

It's not related to the notes thing you spoke about. But I wanted to let you know just as a precaution. A logo does not mean it's the actual website.

Thanks for the info. This is important info for everyone to keep in mind, I think.

As Brandon has already said, the logo was probably taken from the favicon.
There are a number of legitimate browser extensions/addons that allow you to make notes. The favicon  is probably imported to remind you of the site, similar to a bookmark.
Suggest you check out your addons to see what you have installed.
