This is a Hub that I wrote a few years ago, about my home country of Barbados.
    https://hubpages.com/travel/interesting … t-barbados

It mentions seven interesting fact about the country and its culture, as well as a map.
I submitted it to WanderWisdom a while back, and I received this email:
Thank you for submitting your article, 7 Things You Probably Didn't Know about Barbados, for consideration on WanderWisdom. Unfortunately, your article was not selected. Since you already confirmed that your article is free from content and structural issues, it is possible that it was not selected due to the nature of its topic. Perhaps your article:

is about a current event and written in a way that won't be relevant to readers in the future. Perhaps you can expand on your topic and offer historical analysis or additional insight beyond covering the facts of the story.
is about a very general topic that is already extensively covered on WanderWisdom or elsewhere online. Perhaps you can add a new spin on the topic to make it your own. If your article is a popular (e.g., chocolate chip cookies) recipe, adding gorgeous, original, step-by-step photos is a great way to make it stand out from the rest.
is unlikely to satisfy readers for some other reason. Your article might be deeply valuable to you, your friends, or your family, but not be written in a way that is useful or accessible to a wider audience. Or perhaps your article could be useful to readers, but it doesn't convey your experience or involvement with the topic.
is about a YMYL (Your Money, Your Life) topic. YMYL articles need to be written by a professional or expert on the topic, by someone who has had personal experience with it, or list credible, well-cited sources.
didn't address the changes requested by the site's editor.

I thought my article was pretty current and well written, however I'm willing to change and edit it if it could then be featured on a Niche site.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

That is the standard rejection email. Even if there is another issue that is the email that is sent.
To make your article more likely to be accepted, you need to make sure all subtitles are in APA title case. You can use https://capitalizemytitle.com/ Copy your subtitles, paste them into the program, and select APA.
Half width photos are not acceptable  in the niche sites anymore. The photo of James Sisnett needs to be changed so that it takes up the width of the capsule.
Your article is not very engaging. I cannot fix this for you, but think about adding questions, a poll, a video, etc. You need to do something to keep the reader on the page longer. (This may or may not affect your ability to have this moved to a niche site, but if the reader stays on your page longer it will benefit you.)

Good luck. I did learn a few new things about Barbados.

I typed Wanderwisdom + Barbados into Google search. Quite a few articles appeared, all on slightly different aspects of Barbados. Take a look at them to see how they are laid out. Try and make your article focus on a different angle from what's already on Wanderwisdom.

    Hello Cardia:

I looked over your article and found some problems with both run-on sentences and short, choppy ones.

Here is an example of a run-on sentence from your article:

“When asked, the centenarians almost always attribute their longevity to their diets of local starches such as breadfruit, cassava, potatoes and yams, all of which are known to give energy and are found in abundance on the island.”

To learn more about run-on sentences and how to fix them, I suggest that you read these two articles:

    https://academicguides.waldenu.edu/writ … nsentences

    https://www.quickanddirtytips.com/educa … -sentences

This paragraph consists of short, choppy sentences:

“Barbados boasts that it has the world’s largest collection of 17th century British iron cannons. As of today, more than four hundred cannons have been found around the island. Many are on mounted on display at the Barbados Garrison in Saint Michael. The Garrison is a former British military base from the 17th, 18thand 19th centuries. It was also the base for the West India Regiment, a unit of the British army.”

To learn more about short, choppy sentences and how to fix them, I suggest that you read this article:
