    Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening Fellow Hubbers!

Having taken part in four NaNoWriMo ("winning" two) I thought that I would give Camp NaNoWriMo a shot this month.

Are there any other Campers on HubPages?

What are you talking about?  Never heard of this.  Is this an HP thing?

No it's nothing to do with HubPages.
It's a "competition" to encourage you to complete a novel in a month.

Not for me!  Writing a novel in one month would be a massive undertaking and likely would result in substandard work.  I've written books in the past and can tell you that to do a good, thorough job of it, can take much longer...even  years. The pros have teams that assist them, but the average person would have a tough time doing this I think.  Besides, it would take a lot of writing time away from HP, which for me at least, is where I earn my money.

Camp NaNoWriMo is more relaxed, and usually (not always) takes place in the Northern Summer. Participants set their own word count, rather than the set 50k of November. I set 25K, as I am using it to prepare the groundwork for my NaNo project in November.

This is an awesome program for writers.  I have never done the November program or the camp. https://nanowrimo.org/

Hi Timetraveler! NaNoWriMo is short for national novel writing month. It's an initiative to encourage writers to write 50,000 words in a month. Normally it's done in November, but they have "camps" during the summer. Here's a link. https://nanowrimo.org
