Community Writers' Feedback Before Publication

When an article is published, it is exposed to the general public at large. As a writers' community, it would be really helpful if we could read each others' articles so we can make suggestions on grammar, content, and organization BEFORE publication becomes available to the general public.

Other writing sites, such as Book Country (who have discontinued this feature, I think because of low participation), have done this.

I think such a feature would bring the writing community closer together and improve Hubpages current Better Business Rating of B-. This feature would also alleviate some of the work of the Hubpages Team.

BBB ratings represent the BBB's opinion of how the business is likely to interact with its customers. We are not the customers, so doing this will not change the rating. Why is this rating even important to HP?

Before the content is featured, the article does need to pass the quality assessment process, so there is someone reading the work at this stage in the process. Moreover, as a writer, you can always ask for other hubbers to go through it while you wait for the QAP to complete.

This feature is probably not a viable feature considering the many other things HP can work on instead. I see how it can help, but I don't think it's something that would get passed on.

Unfortunately, lobobrandon, the work has to be published before other writers can see it.

We are gratis (barter) customers. We give our work in exchange for website exposure and a share of ad earnings, if any. Maybe a new term needs to be invented for what we do.

I have to agree that this has nothing to do with BBB.  It would be a marginally useful feature but take quite an investment of time and effort to implement--and history suggests that Hubpages knows where to invest their efforts to stay profitable as a content site.

In the long run, psycheskinner, being able to perfect articles before publication with feedback from others besides the author would lighten HP team's load and improve overall writing quality here on the site (also for sister sites).

New writers who have had problems with businesses, for whatever reason, do turn to the BBB for opinion, which does come into consideration when the prospective writer is looking at HP's potential.

A stronger community support would be in effect with the suggested feature.

Oh I love BBB.  But the fact is we are not HubPages customers so what they do for us is not relevant to a BBB rating.

We are in a way, dear psycheskinner. I gave a review on BBB. Reviews don't affect ratings. We write here in exchange for a service. I regard myself, then as a barter customer-writer.

Not in the way BBB defines it, we could not file a complaint with BBB
