Will a personal experience be considered a blog post? I'm confused about what is considered a blog post.

I recently published a hub that consists of three stories that highlight my personal experiences in getting rid of mice. It was not only featured with no problems, but was also moved to Letterpile. The key is that I categorized it as creative writing. If you're interested in taking a look at it as an example of an acceptable personal experience hub, you'll find it on my profile.

Here's how you should look at this issue:  People don't care about your personal experiences UNLESS they are used to make a point about an issue you are writing about.  People want information that will help THEM in some way.  They want answers to their questions, etc.  So, if you include a personal experience within a blog and only as part of it, you likely will be OK.  Ron's example sort of fulfills that requirement because he is showing people, through his personal experiences, three ways he got rid of mice.  That is hugely different than talking about a relationship you are having.

I wanted to do an article about when I appeared on a national talk show about people who survived violent crimes, also wanted to try to something about life after mutilation . are those too personal?

It depends if people are looking for that information. From your previous comments it seems that you'd like to earn here. Choose topics that people want answers to. Otherwise you may as well start a personal blog if you simply want to express yourself and share your life stories.

Amazon now requires us to write articles that are suitable for children to read.  Discussing violent crimes and mutilation I think would be a bit much for this site...and yes, those topics are pretty personal.  If you read the learning center info, somewhere in there you will find a list of subjects that are acceptable to write about here.  That would be a good starting point for you.  Good Luck

I thought that I could write it in a way it could help others in particular how women can get their feminity back after being disfigured

I didn’t think of what TT2 just said when I gave you my reply earlier, but she has a point. It may not be accepted unless you write it in a casual way without gruesome detail. That might work.

Yes, that's what I was thinking, I wouldn't go into the attack, rather how to deal with the aftermath. particularly the loss of femininity .

Just remember it has to be family friendly to be accepted here.

The best thing to do is explore articles on the Network sites to see what makes a good article. Just click on the HubPages logo above and you'll see a list of sites down the right-hand side of the page.

Shalon, Keep in mind that HubPages is not a blog site. It’s a network of niche sites with individual articles that stand on their own merit.

As theraggededge has said, you can start your own blog if you just want to share your personal experience, but that’s not going to attract much traffic or make any money.

A better way would be to write articles about your life experience in such as way that you make it worth something to the reader. Write with the intention of helping others. Don’t just make it about yourself. That won’t rank well with Google.

RonElFran gave a good example. He used his personal experience to show others how to solve a problem.

People with a problem would be searching the Internet for solutions. That is what you will want to focus on doing when you write your articles. I think you have a good niche to fill, go for it.
