Why is my hub (quality) scored so low?

I would love to have feedback as to why this hub was scored so low, is not featured, has barely any traffic, etc

i have written over 100 articles on here, but have really noticed a difference in traffic, scores, etc. recently.

    Example, see my latest hub:

    https://hubpages.com/holidays/How-to-Pi … me-for-Her

I value someone's input as to why this is scored so low and is not featured. I spent over a week writing on it and implementing all elements/capsules I know of. I did SEO, keyword research, planning, formatting, including hyperlinks, Amazon products, you name it.

    What am I missing??

I look forward to your feedback.

    Much thanks!

      Hi Michele -

The first thing you want to do is change the title -it's far too long.  Maybe just something like Choose the Best Perfume for the Woman in Your Life.

Start with an intro to your topic.  This shouldn't have a subheading before it.

The first section is Who are you buying perfume for?  The content isn't about this.  Maybe talk about how to decide the type of perfume based on who you are buying it for.  For example, if it's someone you know very well like a mother or sister & know the perfume they like, you'll also know if they like to stick to what they already use or like to try new scents.  Maybe talk about personality types or how else you can use your knowledge of the person to choose a perfume.

The second section is similar - The subheading is Why do you want to buy perfume as a gift?  This doesn't address the topic of the article which is selecting a perfume.  Then you discuss ways to actually select it.  You suggest:

Take her to the perfume store with you!
Buy her favorite perfume – one she already owns!
Ask another family member or friend who may know more about her taste than you do.
Ask her what kind of perfume she likes or loves the best.
Consider buying a set of sample sized bottles so that she can figure out which scent is best for her.

These are all pretty common sense and people don't need an article to figure them out.  The last one might be useful but you would need other suggestions that aren't obvious or covered over and over.

The next section again has a subheading which could be clearer, such as methods of selecting a fragrance or something similar.  These suggestions seem more useful but instead of just giving links to what other people have written you need to discuss them here.  People don't want to have to go from article to article or to different resources without knowing that they might be helpful.  Explain what the resources are useful for and how to use them.  For example, for the subheading Try a Scent Map you need to have more content than just use a scent map.  For the article A Modern Guide to Scents and Perfumes provide a more comprehensive summary of what is there other than just list a few of the topics covered.

Ideally, do your research and then organize and synthesize the information into a coherent article.  People can find what you are linking to on their own without the need for your article.  You need to come up with information that isn't presented elsewhere or create an article that is more comprehensive and includes a more complete coverage of the subject.

Also, make sure your formatting is correct such as capitalizing your subheadings etc.

      Good luck.

I think you have too many Amazon products promoted.
I think the guideline is no more than 1 product per article...or 1500 words...

I'll plunge into to address a subject I know nothing about. I skipped through the article and noticed a few things that surprised me given 100+ articles.

Images are not sourced and don't appear to be Creative Commons licensed.

The title is impossibly long. Nobody is going to type in that string in Google. It needs to be shortened.

Sub-heads need to be  in APA title face.

A randomly selected section has issues:

Is (should be are) there even easier ways to make this shopping decision? Sure! Check out these tips on how to make this choice in your sleep. (But aren't you going to be in a store?)

Take her to the perfume store with you! (Ah yes you are in a store not asleep)
Buy her favorite perfume – one she already owns!

Exclamation marks should only be used for things such as Wow! or Bang!.

Thank you so much for the advice! I have never done the Creative Commons attribution. I have mostly used Morgue File which is also free. I probably do need to give it a try. I think I will start there! Whew! I think it will still be a lot of work; thank you! I look forward to starting there... smile

Whew! I got the CC attributions done (hopefully correctly). Took forever. Lol. Feeling great about doing that right though.

Going to move on to the next correction...

        Thank you again.
        Michele
