Just got an email telling me I've been chosen to have some of my best hubs edited by Hub Pro Premium.  Does anybody here have experience with this?  Can't opt out, but would like to know how it went.  Am very nervous about this because I have several hubs that are in the 300,000 plus page views and am a bit uncomfortable about having anybody mess with them, even though my past experiences with editors have mostly been good. Also, I write on a very specific topic about which editors might not have enough experience.  For example, in one I use the term "blackwater" which is correct, but for awhile had to fight with an editor who wanted to use "black water", which is incorrect.  Anyhow, if you've had this type of editing done, please let me know how it went.  Thanks

Yes, have had several done now. The first ones went really well. If you get Joanna - give a big cheer. She kept in contact, asked me questions and used a very light touch. She added a ton of updated techie information to one hub which was really helpful.

The next one was okay but the editor added information that wasn't relevant to the topic so I edited and hid that capsule.

The most recent one... well, I'm not sure yet. I have a 5,000 word hub with a list of 60 witchcraft traditions. I had it in alpha order. The editor changed it to reflect their importance in search engine traffic. I'll give it a couple of weeks but I may change it back because how will people find the one they are interested in? That'll take some time. There were also a few grammatical errors introduced, so have fixed them.

On my last HubPro edit, there was a lot of information added. It took me a while to realize that most of it was copied almost word for word from some of my competition. It was very easy for me to recognize where the info came from when I saw the original. I've been editing it, not reverting to the old version, but making it reflect me more.

That hub has totally tanked. It used to get over 300 views a day, now it gets about 30. Of course other things have happened. I can't put all of the blame on the edit, but I can't help thinking that had something to do with it.

If I were you I'd contact Robin and tell her what happened.  If an editor is inserting duplicate content into someone's article, they shouldn't be editing.  That is not editing, that is plagiarizing.  No wonder the article tanked!

It's been so long now, and it took me a couple of months to figure it out, plus I have done a lot of additional editing. Just seems like it's water under the bridge, for that hub anyway.

They do have screenshots and stuff like that when edits like this are made. Robin does respond very well and she would look into it if you tell her about it. It could help this from happening to you or any of us in the future. Also, if others are not detecting this, it could be damaging the niche sites and affecting us all.

The one experience I had several years ago was positive.

Another time, they wanted to do it to another hub that was already at the top of Google's front page, pretty green box and all. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I somehow successfully got that project cancelled.

My experience with HubPro Premium is similar to theraggededge.

I've had one excellent HPP experience - lots of contact with the editor and the changes made definitely gave a boost to traffic.

I've had several mediocre edits which I've left in place to see if traffic changes - but so far they've had little or no effect.

And I've had one disastrous edit where the editor added incorrect information and completely changed the meaning of the article. So I deleted everything that had been altered and returned it to how it was before. There was a slight dip in traffic, but it's returned to its previous number of views now, so no long term harm done.

In the letter they sent they said that if you change the hub back they will remove it from the niche sites!  So how did you guys manage to make the changes without being penalized?

As far as I know, your article will only be removed from a niche site if you add back in spammy elements.

I understood that to be the case, but that is not what the email stated.

I do not have much more to say about this than Bev, but I do want to point out that I have had a positive experience with my HubPro edits. I have had several edited (one was even hubpro edited twice) and have been happy with the changes. Your English is so amazing that I doubt they will find anything to mess with, but they might be able to change some images and some layout that will help traffic.
As far as changing things back, I found some things I did not like on the penultimate article they edited (articles I do not approve of were referenced, including one by the dog whisperer from TV) so I just deleted that capsule and replaced it with one of my own. They just sent the usual "your artilce was reviewed" email. (I think the only way they would send it back to HP was if you added spammy elements.)
On the last edit, I told the editor I did not approve of one section before she was finished. She went back and changed it.
I think the program is working great.

I've had good experiences with the regular Hub Pro edits, but I'm talking now about HubPro Premium, which seems as though it may be much more intense.

Yes, I realize that. Please read the post again, if you want. It was about Hubpro premium.
This is a screenshot of one of the articles.
        "03/26/15    03/31/15    Premium    view changes
        08/22/17    08/22/17    Snip    view changes
        11/16/17    11/16/17    Snip    view changes
        11/09/18    11/15/18    Premium    view changes
        11/20/18    11/27/18    Premium - Addendum    view changes"
If it says premium that indicates it is not the Hubpro basic.

I've had one Hub Pro Edit and I'm very pleased with the whole experience.  To date, it is the only hub still making consistent traffic and always holding anywhere in the top three spots on Google ... I wish they'd edit another so I can learn a bit more about their neat tricks on boosting traffic.  Good Luck on the edit

I've had a few Hub Pro Premium edits three that I recall. Joanna, as Bev says did an amazing job and the one she edited is now my best performing hub. It was already doing well, but the edit didn't result in it losing traffic, added related info. made the article rank for a wider range of terms. She did her homework and brought some good facts to the hub and added some new images that she asked if I could elaborate on. In short: together we made it a much better hub than it already was.

What I've noticed from the few is that the Premium edits are mainly focused on images and structure (bullet points, etc.).

You can edit stuff back, but keep in touch with your editor and ask them why they make structural changes (if any) they have data on hubs that do well and try to replicate some stuff. As far as blackwater is concerned, it definitely is not that niche related and the editor should have known this (if not I'm sure a quick dictionary lookup would have clarified it). I would think that only the best editors and those who know to do their research well are set up for these Premium edits. So you should not see such issues - hopefully!

Thanks.  I'll be interested to see what happens and am hoping for the best.  Views have now dropped from a high of 7,000 per day at peak season to 1900 as of today.  Kind of upsetting.  The only thing saving me is that cpm rates have been high, but don't know how long that can last.  Wish Google would "catch up" already...am sure others feel the same.  My second site wasn't hit that hard because the articles are on many niche sites, but it still isn't doing nearly as well as I would like.  Am working on that!

Based on what I've read here and my own experiences,I am dreading doing my January updates to  get the year 2019 date on my hubs. As we all know, any update triggers an editor getting involved. That has been disastrous for me multiple times in the past. I used to have 90+ hubs here. I'm already making transfer copies in preparation.
