I noticed that not all files were uploaded to Google Drive when I did a backup of a niche site article. I save these as a HTML file from Chrome. So I decided to investigate and it seems that not all JPGs are saved. Are these embedded somewhere within other files?
Out of 25 JPGs from one article, only 10 were saved. I notice sometimes when I'm saving, the save timeouts and aborts because the page is dynamic with ads updating and the save is waiting for ad images to update. However this save completed.
To complicate things, the first time I saved, it made a HTML file plus an associated folder containing JPG files, CSS files and javascript JS files. I deleted all and then subsequent saves only produced a HTML file which I could view in the browser when loaded.
Maybe this has something to do with AMP and everything is contained in a fast loading page?
Update!
The reason I couldn't see the associated files folder was because my desktop didn't display it unless it was refreshed. Not sure why, because the HTML file was displayed on every save.
I tried to load some of my saved HTML files for articles and pages didn't always fully display. Possibly either all the files weren't saved originally as the page waited for ads to be served, or maybe when the code of a saved page is run, the script code gets stuck when it refers to things online that can no longer be accessed. Also the sidebar menu appeared on top of a couple of pages and I couldn't scroll down (since the browser was just rendering the HTML code and I wasn't connected live to a site, I couldn't close the menu).
Moral of the story, it's worth checking whether you can load your backup files if you intend copying and pasting text from them for whatever reason. Also I intend to turn on my ad blocker from now on before saving pages.

I save the HTML of articles to my hard drive and also backup onto an external drive, but my second backup is that the files on my hard drive are automatically uploaded to Google Drive. I tried opening the HTML of one today and the first problem is that the HTML file doesn't run off Google Drive so...

This is something confusing that I have discovered. I normally backup the webpages of hubs and this creates a main HTML file and an auxiliary folder with the same name, containing java script files, .jpg files and .webp files. Now on one hub, I have 14 images, however there are only 7 JPG and WEBP...

When I was working on a hub earlier today, I saved the capsules and clicked the done editing button, but the text didn't actually save, so I had to retype everything into the capsules. This has happened several times lately and a number of times throughout my HP times. I'm not sure if it's a fluke...

I'm still having problems saving text capsules that have links in them.I've been having the problem for months now. Every now and then I can't save text capsules that have contextual links within the capsule. I'm using Firefox and I've tried Safari today. I can only get it to work most of the time...

I use the internet with Firefox. All other websites seem to load just fine, my internet connection is pretty fast, but Hubpages is getting increasingly slower for me. Also, the picture and text problem with not saving when working on a hub is still an issue. I add a picture, upload, put in a...
