Since only pages seem to be indexed by Google, not Group content, can I duplicate paragraphs from articles in group posts?
I do a huge lot of marketing my stuff in Facebook groups. I am in hundreds of them, and I joined the most of them specifically for the purpose of marketing my webpages.
I usually type out an original greeting and introduction sort of thing before posting, and then I just copy that and the link, and paste the same thing in 50 or so groups. There've been times when I was feeling much more lazy about it, and I'd copy/paste my first one or two paragraphs from the article as the header for the post. I've never had any problems from doing any of this. For the most part, I get a lot of compliments for my writing. Of course I'm posting in groups which are very much about the content I'm posting in there.
Me? Generally between 300-1500 views over 3 or 4 days. After that it tapers off a lot, but I regularly get Facebook views from things a week or several ago.
If I wrote about politics, I would think I could do much much better with Facebook. I'm doing music/guitar things exclusively right now. There's hundreds of groups for the subject(s).
I'm constantly considering politics though. There have got to be thousands of politics groups on Facebook.
I get very little Natalie, maybe six views per day. Like Wesman, I post occasionally to other peoples groups if they allow it and I started my own, but only have a few members so far. Pages have the advantage that content posted shows up in searches unlike that in groups. However groups are geared more towards members and it's easier to interact with them. I had invited manufacturers to do Q&A sessions on my group, with the idea of it being a regular feature so members could quiz them on their products. Unfortunately page accounts can't post to groups, so that idea fell flat on it's face. I wish Facebook would allow this.
I had an article that someone posted in full on a Facebook page (not a group) and it showed up in a search. Bing, I think. Eventually Facebook took it down, but it took a while.
Facebook and Bing are partners. Bing powers Facebook's search bar. Google, of course, is competing with Facebook for power.

A few years back when I did Examiner.com, the writers were always talking about where is the best places to promote our work. I feel like once you use all your social media accounts, hit up any forums related to your topic, reddit, and network with people you know, you're really out of places...

I know people have largely said that they haven't found good results from Flipboard but I've noticed that despite not even thinking about it or adding to any of my magazines in over a year I continue to get a handful of views from there each month. I am wondering if it might be worth it to...
