How do I check traffic sources?

   I just got a nice 300% boost in traffic on one of my articles. I'd like to find out whether that came from a specific link. How do I do that? If I go onto "Traffic Sources" it just has a list of search engines.

      Google Analytics. I really don't mess with Analytics, as I tried to use it years ago, and realized I didn't know what I was doing. But with Analytics you could surely find what you're looking for.

            You have to join Google Analytics. It's free. All it is, is every possible bit of data you could ever imagine could exist for your stuff. I haven't logged into mine in years. It's just way over my head.
            
            Hopefully Brandon will show up. I'd think he'd be your best bet to help you with that. But you could go ahead and get an Analytics account.

      Or, if you just want a quick overview (I have never used GA) go to the hub (not in Edit mode). Click Stats at the top and then click the Referrers tab. If the article has any age, you'll also be able to see what search phrases people have used to find it.

   You need to place your Google Analytics affiliate code in the “Reporting Settings” under “Earnings > Settings” in your HubPages Account. After your have let it accumulate data, you can do the following.
   
   Log into Google Analytics and on the left column, click the following sequence:
   
   Behavior > Site Content > All Pages
   
   You will see a full report of all your active hubs with views, duration, etc.
   
   To see where the traffic is coming from for any particular hub, click that hub and then from the left column, select Acquisition > All Traffic > Source/Medium

   The layout of GA may have changed somewhat over the years (not sure whether the sceeenshots were updated), but it's unlikely to be vastly different.
