So I've been writing articles consistently through the week and all of a sudden hubs just stopped getting featured and I have some pending almost 48 hours now, as though the feature just turned itself off. If this a weekend thing or what? Would prefer not having to wait multiple days to start getting indexed.
The HP workflow varies but is usually consistent. I noticed the workflow slowed down this weekend. Like TT2 says it happens, and you just have to adjust to the flow.

I see this message when my Hub is rejected: "Heads up! It looks like your Hub is not cleared for publication because it did not pass the Quality Assessment Process. No need to fret; every new Hubber goes through Boot Camp, and all you need to do is improve the Hub so that it meets our quality...
