Is Hubpages a good place to publish poems?

I would like to publish some of my original poems on Hubpages. However, I am unsure if they comply with the Hubpages quality standards, such as minimum word count, variety of capsules, etc. However, I was told that Hubpages supports creative writing.
Would my poems flourish here on their own, or do I need to find some way to add on extraneous content to my poetry?

You might try clustering a group of poems under one topic-focused headline rather than one poem per article.

Use introductory commentary about the topic with keywords to attract search engine rankings. What inspired you to write the poem? What famous poet wrote about a similar topic that gave you insight about that topic?

The Google ads tool shows high traffic for keyword phrases such as:

      poems about life
      poems about death
      poems for kids
      friendship poems

That is an excellent idea! I am new to the concept of using keywords to increase views, but your advice helps a lot!
        Thank you so much!

Alas, I have found nowhere on the internet where poems and flash fiction do well. Believe me, I've tried.

Hmm... thank you for your advice! It's rather sad that creative writing isn't as popular as it should be... I rather enjoy reading unique works.

You can publish them here as long as they are not elsewhere on the web. However, even if they are moved to Letterpile (the network site for creative writing), they probably won't garner much traffic.

Word counts and variety of capsules don't apply to poetry but you could give your poems a helping hand by telling the story behind it and adding a beautiful image.

Like previous pp's have said poetry generally doesn't do well anywhere. I have one that I added some supplemental content too as well as a few photos and it gets roughly 1500 views a year. I think that is extremely good for poetry, considering my others don't see much of anything. I'd say less than 100 views a year for the other one on Letterpile. The one on HP is pretty much dead and I should really delete it.

1500 views a year sounds like the norm for my regular articles, haha. I just started writing here a month ago. It's a little disappointing that poetry isn't popular anywhere, especially as it seems to be dying out in society today. Thank you for sharing your experience!
