Low Competition Titles With Bad Grammar

So using Ubersuggest, I discovered a title for an article with high search volume and relatively low competition. The problem is that the grammar isn't correct for the two word search term. There's an "s" at the end of the first word (searchers thinking it should be the possessive form, but leaving out the apostrophe, however because the first word is plural, it should either revert to the singular and have no "s" or an apostrophe after the plural "s"). The correct search term without the s or with an s' has zero search volume (or maybe it isn't accounted for by Ubersuggest).
    Any thoughts on this?

When people search on Google they are not putting in the right punctuation, period. Google is smart enough to know better. Whether your article has an apostrophe or not it's not going to change rankings for that reason alone.

So if the two word term has traffic of 12,000 per month and low competition, do you think that's good enough reason to use it in the title (putting in the apostrophe or whatever)?

I think so. Lobobrandon is right, when people are Googling they're not using proper grammar. I do title my articles to be in line with search terms, not proper grammar, and I think it helps me.

Always use the proper punctuation and try to make your title as conversational as possible.  If you google the search term you want to target, you'll notice that the titles will likely be more conversational and grammatically correct.  The way you beat these articles is with better content, not a highly-optimized and possibly grammatically-incorrect title.

Ok. On the subject of content, are lots of relevant photos good enough as a substitute for textual content? (I'm thinking of articles which some day could be indexed by non-Google search engines and understood by non-English speakers). On a "How To" type guide, pictures can be sufficient without the necessity of text.

Relevant photos are great!  If you can add both original photos and text in how-tos, that's the best.  Be sure to accurately describe your photos in the caption field.  Your how-tos are awesome, Eugene!

Thanks (blushing!). I'm really thinking about Baidu and similar,  indexing niche site articles. They only really want Chinese language webpages though, but if guides were mostly pictorial, maybe that would be a workaround? How would advertising work on the pages though?

I believe that most ad dollars are spent on english speaking sites, so I would focus on those for now.  Photo tutorials are great, but I would add written content to optimize.

On a related note, Google just updated their image search results.  Worth checking out and watching your articles that get traffic from image search
