I have been here 9 days and made 2 hubs so far. Since i had read that HP does rather well in the search engines I decided to test how quickly I could get my hubs indexed in the Search Engines. At the time both topics I picked were trending topics on Google. This is why these 2 hubs have the topics they have.

    The first hub is http://hubpages.com/hub/Haiti-Earthquake-Facts
On yahoo it is currently ranked #2 for "Haiti Earthquake Facts"
    http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=haiti+earthquake+facts
Nothing in Google yet, at least that matters. If its not top 30 it doesn't matter in my opinion.

The second hub I made is http://hubpages.com/hub/iTampon
    It has several good rankings.
On yahoo it is #2 (or #9 depending which results you pick) for "iTampon"
    http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0o … &sao=1

    "iTampon Jokes" #3 http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0o … mpon+jokes

    "iTampon Poll" #1 http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0o … ampon+Poll

    On Google "iTampon" #34 (Digg listing) http://www.google.com/search?hl=en& … 0&sa=N

    "Itampon Poll" (Digg listing) #21
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en& … 0&sa=N

It did have better Google rankings but they fell out recently.
Google has always been harder to rank for than Yahoo. It seems those submissions to Digg were a good idea, otherwise I would have nothing in Google.

Anyways what am I doing right and wrong with my Hubs here? I do realize my choice of topics were probably not good ones long term. Going forward I plan to pick topics that will have more long term potential. So far I'm happy with my results, but I know there is much for me to learn yet. I'm open to constructive criticism and suggestions. Thanks

    They both look good.

I can understand doing a piece on the iPad. It's a nice piece of equipment.

But, to follow along twitter? I guess that's your decision. Sounds like a lot of updating to the hub?

Unless, this is all that you're providing is what's on the hub? If so, then I'd say, I'll have to disagree. The twitter statements look like clutter? But, that's just my opinion.

Overall, you did good in my opinion. And, go with what you feel you want to represent.

Thank you for your time. smile

Thanks Cagsil. I don't plan to keep updating stuff from Twitter. But since most of the action was on Twitter when the whole thing begun thats where I focused mostly.
No I don't think I will add much more to this hub except for maybe Amazon module once the iPad gets released possibly. Yea I do think all the Twitter comments is a bit much.
      Thanks for your feedback Cagsil.
