I need some help to pass the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thank you.
The article: The Importance of Philosophy in the Age of YouTube, in 2019
Well, the page/article is unpublished. It should have been visible to the viewers of this forum category? Anyway, here is what I had written.
The Importance of Philosophy in the Age of YouTube, in 2019.
.
.
Prologue
Immanuel Kant and Hegel did a massive work on philosophy. After them, and after their departure from the central stage, any new philosopher must try to begin—exactly from the point where the aforementioned two figures have ended philosophy.
YouTube has done a lot to minimize the importance of philosophy. Everything can now be immediately seen. A picture says a thousand words, and any YouTube video says about 20-30 pictures per second. So, if we calculate thusly—YouTube says a lot. And it says in real-time.
Reevaluating the Critique of Pure Reason
Time has come that we revalue the critique of pure reason—in the new light of this century. We must realize its significance in the light of medical science and profession.
No disease happens without cause. Also, no disease can be cured without operating on the diseased limb. For example, if a tumor or hernia or unacceptable growth or anything like that that has occurred in the body, we have to cut it to cure it. Or, take any such action. We can not cure it by praying. We have to act on the disease. Also, the tumor does not occur without a cause.
This is the central theme of the critique of pure reason. We have to take into consideration the fact that allopathic medical science and profession is a Western thing. It was invented in Europe. The Native Americans, Native Canadians, the Hindus, the Muslims — they have not invented it. Actually, they still do not understand it to its full length. Although, now they can not live their live without allopathy either.
Before Europe started to spread — the entire world prayed, when they saw a tumor. The idea of cutting it by operation, did not fall to them. When Europe itself was in its Middle Ages — it too, prayed when it saw a tumor. The idea of cutting something from the body by operation, requires sophistication.
So, when Europe came out of its Middle Ages, and also started to explore the world and spread in the world, it did everything that it could — to superiorize Allopathy over other medical practices.
This trend influenced philosophy, science, education, etc. Hence, we began to hear that reason is everything. That by reason, everything can be understood.
Reevaluating the Hegelian Philosophy of Dialectics
What Hegel did, is that he summed up the fact that every medical practice, that all the different and diverse linguistic cultures have brought about, is valuable. Even praying is valuable as a medicine. Even fakery is valuable as a medicine. They are valuable, because they justifiedly correspond to the underground matrix/architecture of the specific culture that they belong to. And all these rational, semi-rational, irrational medical practices are colliding with each other all the time. And this collision is meaningful.
Reevaluating the Critique of Practical Reason
What Immanuel Kant found missing in the predominant culture of his time, was the fact that certain aspects can not be formulated via this mechanistic conception of disease, and the curing of disease.
For example, whether you should home school a child, or not — this has no mechanistic answer. How many children a couple should propagate — this has no rational/mechanistic answer. Should a person remain unmarried, or should they marry — this has no rational/mechanistic answer. Should a girl remain unmarried, or should they marry — this has no rational/mechanistic answer.
What Immanuel Kant did, is that he went to point out that our atomic view of the cosmos, is problematic — because we can not know how an individual atom feels inside itself. What we do know, is exactly how we are feeling inside ourselves. About others: we can not say exactly how they are feeling; but we all nonetheless can precisely anticipate/predict how. for example, a barber is feeling about a customer, and vice versa.
The Philosophical Point That Kant and Hegel Jointly Established
What Immanuel Kant did, is in this: he connected what causes a tumor/disease ~ with thing-in-itself (i.e., how an individual atom is feeling within itself) ~ and then connected the sum total to help us understand whether a girl should remain unmarried, or should they marry. Hegel developed this grand point further.
We know by experience that babies do not have diseases. Babies, generally speaking, are quite pristine in health. It is when someone gets himself/herself under harsh conditions, then disease, tumor, etc happen. Exactly how this mechanism of disease formulation takes place— that—Immanuel Kant said— we can not know. In order to know that, we have to crack the thing-in-itself. And the onlyway to crack that—Hegel said—is Dialects: which is to say ~ contradicting the status quo.
This is the exact point where we are to anchor our philosophical quest. And we must begin from here anew.
I'll rewrite the article. It requires more precision. Any feedback is welcome. :--)
If you still have time to do so, edit and delete that post that has the entire text of your article. If you choose not to do so, it will trip a duplicate flag filter as it has already been published on the internet. You will not be able to publish it again on Hubpages.
I will rewrite a better article on this same subject. I think I will let this above lengthy post stay.
