Previously, in order for someone to contact me, they had to have an account on hubpages. I now notice that anyone is contacting me without an account on hubpages.
When did that happen?
And is it possible for me to set my contact so that only hubbers can contact me.
If you look at your profile on each article you wrote there is a line that says "contact author" All the reader has to do is click this in order to send you an email. As soon as you reply they have your email.
I did not like this feature since most people were just asking for free advice instead of taking their dogs to their own veterinarian. To cancel it you have to go to your account page, then click on profile, then click on accout settings. Unclick "allow others to contact you". (save changes)
I would then go back and check one of your articles to make sure that the "contact author" is no longer visible.
I know that. But it's not only on the article. It now has a big fat 'contact' me on your profile, and that never used to be there. Also, I'm pretty sure you used to need to be signed in or create an account in order to contact one of the writers.
Of course, I want to be contacted - if a hubber wants to speak to me privately, i.e. they have an account.
What I don't want is to be contacted by readers because 'they want to get to know me,' or they want advice.
And I definitely don't want to respond with my email.
No problem. Ignore, don’t reply. We all get those. The more viewers you have, the more you get
It's been there for about two years. Go to your account settings and untick the box 'Allow others to contact you'.
Like DrMark, I don't enable it, they drive me nuts
Yes, but doesn't that mean I can't contact people on hubpages? I sometimes talk to other hubbers and they talk to me.
Not if they haven't switched it off themselves - it only applies to your account. You can also contact them via fan mail, I think.

I want to contact hubpages to ask why my hub needs improvement. One hub I had received a 51 and was still featured, yet another received a 54 and 'didn't meet rating standards'. I would like to know why. Yet I can't find anyway to contact staff here. Othere then the FAQ forum there is no extra...

How is this done? I notice so many people in their profiles inviting people to start writing hubpages and inviting them to click on their link to "start writing here." Please advise and thanks!

Is there a possibility we could have a new feature that would only allow Hubpage members with profiles to send emails? I think this might cut down on the amount of spam we are currently receiving from unverified email accounts. Just a thought . Also, it would be great if email...
