Has anyone noticed drops in traffic on recipe articles? My article dropped from averaging 100+ a day (over the past several months) to 29 today. It's under World Cuisine. I've already emailed the editors and the article link. Just checking if anyone has seen the same. Back to you later.

I only have one article on Delishably (food/drink is not my usual "genre"), so I don't know how relevant this is, but recently, the traffic to that one article blew up big time out of nowhere and was my most-viewed piece every day for about ten days, then it came back down to earth.

The article is about five years old and usually gets a dozen or so hits per day (if I'm lucky). However, about two weeks ago, it randomly started getting hundreds of views a day and stayed that way till earlier this week, when its traffic crashed back down to its normal, semi-comatose levels again.

I don't know what caused this sudden bump and subsequent dump, but it certainly was weird (and fun while it lasted).

My main article is dropping, but I'm assuming it's because my seasonal time is ending for that particular article. I will not know for a few more days/weeks if it's a lower drop than normal. When I compare this time to the same time last year it's about roughly the same numbers, at least for now.

Was your article recently edited in the Delishably update? A few of mine have been so far. Some seem to be getting a few views where they were getting none previously. However, I have noticed that a few others seem to be doing worse. I don't think they are completely done with the overhaul yet, but I don't know how much it will impact my other articles anyway.

I really only have one article there that does consistently well. One of mine fell after a collaberative edit a few years back, and never recovered. The views from this year to last year have continued to significantly decrease for that particular one. The rest never took off like I thought they would, but the few I checked did appear to have slightly more views than last year at this time. Although that's not saying much considering most of my other ones were only getting between zero and 10 views a month previously.

Thanks, it may be due to season as well. More people cooking that particular dish for the holidays. It just seemed more sudden.

Traffic is wonky since the core update rolled out a few days ago. Mine is flip flopping depending on the niche.

Thanks, Kierstin. Didn't realize there was a "core update."

Although I am a new Hubber, my view is, it may be a Google update or the tastes of the audience. They may have deviated to other categories.
