Hi Fellow Hubbers,
I need help! I wrote an article with the title above. They want me to make changes before submitting it to Soapoxie. If anyone has time to click on my article and give me advice I’d appreciate it. They want me to give sources for my information. I mentioned in the article it was based on an interview President Trump’s former doctor Ronny Jackson gave to Shannon Bream on Fox News this week. I also quoted from a speech I personally heard Jackson give during his campaign for Congress here in Texas. I also referred to a former Congressman who knew President Lyndon Baines Johnson. So the article is based on things I have personally seen or heard. I don’t understand where I can find sources for that other than myself. Appreciate your advice,
Edward Lane
Hi Edward,
If you are making claims about something someone has said, you need to provide a verifiable source, otherwise it could be considered 'made up'.
Have you tried YouTube for the speeches?
You’ve included direct quotes from people, including quotations about important topics, so I can understand why you are being asked to provide references. All I can suggest is that you look you for online videos (as theraggededge has said), podcasts, newspaper interviews online or in print, and other records of the events that you describe and list them as references. You might be able to include some of the sources in your article. You may have to change the article a little to match any sources that you find.
Since you have included quotations in your articles, I assume that have your own records of the events, such as recorded TV shows. I doubt whether these are legal to include in your article, however, especially if you made them without permission and simply for your personal use.
AliciaC,
Thank you! I did an interview with him over the phone and write down on a legal pad what he said. And he repeated some of the same things at the fundraiser. But I didn’t tape anything. He gave me permission to quote him so there’s no problem with that. I’ll check online. You have given me great ideas. Thanks!!
Thanks for your reply, TheRaggedEdge. Yes, he made the comments during a private fundraiser at one of his supporter’s homes. I asked one of his people for a copy of his speech, but haven’t received one yet. So it’s a deal where there is not a public record from which I could quote. That sure sounds like a good idea you had though. I appreciate it. I guess I could get on google and see if there are any public speeches. He only resigned from the White House a couple of months ago. But I will check. Thank you! Great advice!!

Let's say you see an article on someone's blog and website and they've got good information, but their entire article is extremely poorly structured, poorly worded, and just a gloppy mess. You could easily take the information they present and present it in a totally new way essentially entirely...

I always appreciate it when someone lets me know about a typo or an error of fact in my hubs. I have also given a heads-up to others and they have been appreciative. When I tell someone about an error, I send them a private email. What is the proper thing to do? Ignore what looks like an...

Do you feel that people should respond to comments that are left for them on their hubs?i personally enjoy the feedbak left to me, as well as the opportunity to get to know my fellow "Hubbers" but I have noticed that there are many hub authors who do not respond at all or only selectively.

How important is it to have a comment section on your hubs, or How important is it to respond?I was going through some of the hubs that belong to some of the top paid hubbers ( info found on the success story page) and a lot of those people do not respond to comments. In fact, many of their...

Where are all the green groups? If obama had done something like this is would be in the news for a solid 48 hour news cycle and then some. Proving it's not success that matters but who succeeds that is important to those on the left. Under President Donald Trump, the United States led the...
