    Hi,

I received a message from Google Adsense telling me to include my editor's id in the archive file ads.txt.
I read in a thread that Adsense has been disabled from HP since January.
Should I worry about this message from Google? Should I contact HP about it?

I wrote Maven about it, but since my posts only appear in HP and not on a Maven site, I'm confused about this issue.

    Thanks.

Go into your AdSense account and remove all HP sites from your account.

I received that email as well, and found the thread above, which explains a bit more. HP/Maven is no longer partnering with us as AdSense account holders but instead they're paying us through a different scheme. One option is to remove HP sites from your AdSense account as CYong states above, or other people are suggesting we close our AdSense accounts altogether if we don't use it on any other sites and don't plan to.

The benefit of closing your account is that AdSense will pay you the current balance even if the balance is below the $100 payment threshold. However, if you close your account and then later desire to use AdSense on some other site, you will have to reapply and hope to get accepted again. If you decide to keep your account, you will not receive the balance you've earned unless it reaches $100, so your money is in limbo indefinitely if you're not using your AdSense publisher code to earn on any other sites.

At least this is how I understand the situation. I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Just to highlight, if you've previously obtained your AdSense account via HubPages, you wouldn't be able to use it on any other site, with the exception of Blogger and YouTube. And you can only ever use it on one of these too.

Several years ago I used my adsense account (obtained via HP) on another site (not blogger or YouTube) and it was allowed. But these days I am really behind the times. So they now only allow it on blogger or YouTube if you got it through HP? Do you know why that is?

I have not removed Hubpages from the Adsence.
But I suggest adding your blog or website to Aedsence so that your money below $100 could reach the payment threshold.

Smartandfun, Google implemented a change couple of years back. Essentially, an AS account obtained via a partner site like HP or YouTube can only be used on one partner site at any one time. I read abt the reasons back then too and mostly, it has to do with people abusing easily obtained AS accounts on their own websites.
