New here but need steps to add Amazon links to the article.  And, do I need text only and a short link?
So afraid to do the wrong thing here.
I have an Amazon Affiliate code but unsure how to put it in an article.  Like a book about the piece.

in edit mode in a text capsule, you highlight text that you want as a link, when you click on the link button a box appears with a tab for Amazon; click on tab and you get choices of products that you can click and it will create a link in your text/article that you highlighted.

You have to activate your Amazon earnings program in your earnings setting to earn from Amazon here.

You can still use Amazon capsules I think but editors are liable to snip them. They just did it to one of my articles and it ruined it.

Thank you so much!  I will attempt this.  I'm a nerd so it helps to have advice.

Nate, would you be so gracious to check an article and see if I added link correctly? Article--Grand Canyon Expedition 1869 by John Wesley Powell.  I would so appreciate it.

You know if you have linked it correctly when a nice orangey-red A appears next to it smile

I took a quick look. No, you haven't. You have to mention why you recommend it. It's better if you know the book in question.  It has to be essential to the topic.

Here's a screenshot of one of mine... This one is unusual in that I included two links, but the editors let them through.

Edit: I also included a quote from the second one in a call-out 'quote' capsule. Just to make sure that it reflects and fits in with the topic. The more link goodness you can add, the better.

You are so generous in your help.  I couldn't figure out where the Orange Amazon code was.  As I understand it, in a TEXT capsule, highlight text to link, then click the Link button Tab (is this the one at top of article-not in the Capsule)  Do I need to be in my Amazon Affiliate page to get code? Will try again, thanks so much.

              smile No probs.

You don't need your Amazon affiliate link. It's all done via HubPages. Highlight the actual title or name of item. Then click on the chain link. Then on the Amazon tab (while you are there, you can see that's how you link to your own articles as well). Then look for your title/item. Click Save. Check the link - it should look like mine.

Edit. Gosh, I use 'then' far too often big_smile
