    So, how often are there contests and what not? I checked the blog/past contests but it looks like it has not been recently updated.

      I have no idea how often (bummer).  I tried to search but I couldn't find any new or open contests. I was hoping there would be. A contest could help me stay motivated and hopefully give me some fresh ideas to roll around.

      Hello!

      We normally host contests that correspond with holidays or special events. Otherwise, we host the Hubbies once a year in which Hubbers vote for their favorite authors and articles.

    AshlyChristen I set my own challenge for myself last month and exceeded it! I made a goal of 100 articles published by the end of April. I started at 86 and managed 101 before the end. Now to choose a new goal for this month.

      Did it change your "income" on hubpages?  I've been trying to write every free moment I can scrounge up,  much harder than I imagined lol

    Yes it did. I see many reporting a dip in earnings, I am experiencing the opposite. My total earnings for last month doubled from what I usually see.

    It can be hard to find the time to write! I have a 6 year old, and with school out for the rest of the year it was a challenge.

      Yes! Hard to write when the voices you hear say,  "mom.mom.mommy.mommy" I have 3 boys.  4 if you count dad lol

        I have a houseful of boys as well. Dad and then my son, and my 21 year old nephew lives with me as well. Concentrating is always a struggle! I keep post it notes of new article ideas. Otherwise I would forget what I intended to write about next!
