    Hi Hubbers,

I kept receiving emails that my article contains spammy elements.  I have edited my article over and over again but still the same feedback reached my inbox.  Could you tell me which spammy elements have been found in the article?  This article is wholly mine, my experience, the pics and videos are also mine.  The amazon ads are really Amazon's. So, pls. be specific about what's wrong with my article.

    Thanks,
    Rose (Roslynn7)

I would say it is because of the Amazon capsules. They can flag as spammy when not considered relevant to the article. I see two Amazon capsules for books, and you do mention 'reading' to the kids, you are not sharing a personal angle or opinion of why those two books are good choices. As such it maybe what is flagging the article as spammy. Try removing the Amazon capsules for the books. Or editing those to reflect how they are useful and relevant and should be considered by the reader.

To clarify you can remove them or you can try to add a more detailed description. Though an easy test would be to remove them and see if it passes QA. If once removed they pass and it is featured, you can revisit adding them later and adding additional context and description for why they are relevant.

    Hi there,

My suggestions. Feel free to ignore smile

The first image is unsuitable as it has a foreign caption on it. There is also no citation of origin.

Your Amazon capsules are a problem. You have not mentioned the products in the article or explained why you recommend them. There is a knack to using Amazon in your articles. I prefer in-text links that occur naturally in the writing. So... "my child's favorite book is **amazon link here**. He asks me to read it every single night,"

Don't write full sentences in subtitles. Don't place periods/full stops at the end. Make sure they are in title case.

Get rid of the blocks of white space by editing the previous text capsule to remove the extra 'Enters'. Just place your cursor at the end of the text and press Delete a couple of times. Save.

Some of your suggestions read as though you are giving permission, "You can also watch TV with your family..."

Remove the one-question quiz. It serves no purpose.

Your poll questions should be "How are you experiencing..." or "What is your experience of..."

Also know that this topic is being done to death right now, all over the web. Your competition for readers is huge.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback.  First of all, the caption on the picture is Dutch, our language here in the Netherlands.  I made this photo myself. The Amazon capsules of books are related to the article. Other than, thanks for the tips.

Raggededge is right - the Amazon products are not "related" to the article, at least not what HP considers "related".  The topic of your article is not those books; it is activities to do during lockdown.  The books are only one of the many things discussed, not the subject of the article.  They are, according to HP, only peripherally related.

The recommendation also does not come from (described) personal experience and HP very much wants to see that.  Simply grabbing an Amazon book that looks nice to you and promoting it for sales purposes is insufficient.  Give a paragraph on each one, with some description and a (truthful) personal response to it's use.

It can be difficult to understand the HP policy on Amazon products.  While they can be a fairly major portion of income to both you and HP, the site is not considered as a billboard to advertise products.  It is a source of information, with some product mention that might be useful to a reader.  With that "useful to a reader" being of far more importance that any amount of income.

In general, unless the reader expects to purchase, or you are offering something very unusual or necessary for whatever you're writing about, product ads will not be allowed.  In your case, an article about "staying healthy and sane with children in the lockdown" will not attract readers wishing to buy something.  They aren't there to  buy and have no intention of buying; they are there for help with their kids in the lockdown.

      Good luck!
