I have seen someone write a two part article here (Two articles that built on each other on the subject matter.), but it was not recent.  I did not know if I could do that or if it was currently frowned upon. It would not be able to cover the entire process in one article. Is that something that is currently acceptable? The topics could stand alone, but it would make sense to read the articles in order.

It's okay to do that but they must be able to stand alone, if you know what I mean? For instance I have a 'set' of 16 articles which are all interlinked. However, someone could read one and not read any of the others and they would still benefit from the information.

Whatever you do, don't do Part 1 and Part 2. Give them independent, individual titles.

Thank you so much. They will be able to stand alone, so I guess it won't be a problem.

Bev, I've take note. I've some unpublished articles in edit stage that ran into 2 and 3 part series. I'll retitle them to stand alone. Thanks for sharing.

Think about your own reading/searching habits. How often do you choose a "part one" or "part two" article if you see another choice that has the answers you need in one article. If you are thinking of mah jong, for example, instead of part one you can title it "Mah Jong for Beginners" and then the next article, instead of being part two, can be "Tips for Experienced Mah Jong Players". (If you already are an experienced person, it is unlikely that you will want to read part one.)
I dont think it is forbidden to use a two part article, as HP will allow you to shoot yourself in the foot if you absolutely demand to do so. If any of those people who have written two part articles (titled as such) and have decent traffic would be willing to contradict me, please do so.

DrMark, thank you. Certain of my yet unpublished articles that runs into 2 or 3 parts can now have an individual but interrelated title. Thanks for the information.

I have a 3-part articles, but each is also a stand-alone. The 3 of them had decent traffic. How do you define decent traffic? what number?

I guess that really depends on the author, for example how long they have been here. If an article is not getting several hundred views a day the traffic is not enough. Surely there are more than a few hundred people around the world searching for any specific topic?
You might also experiment by changing the title to the articles to something with a more click-through-rate appropriate title (not 1,2,3) and monitor the traffic for about 6 months. Compare the numbers. if the article is not doing better, change the titles back to the way they were. It will give you a better idea on what works.

Hi Das, yes, if you can keep your account open for that long 6 months is great.

I have looked at several of your articles. You are doing to do well here, at least in my opinion.

You've been given good advice already. On HubPages, you can see all your articles in one place (your profile) but most of your readers won't.  It won't be presented as a series on HubPages or on the niche site if it's moved.  They will just be individual articles on Mah Jongg, mixed up with all the other articles on Mah Jongg by other writers.   So when you write a series, most readers won't even notice it IS a series.

So, as others have said, write every article as if it's standalone, with its own unique title. Link to the other articles in the series by referring to them in the text and linking, as I suggested in the other thread (but remember, don't add those links until they've been moved to the niche site).
