My Article Keeps Getting Flagged for Spammy Material

    "Spammy material" always means that you've added links to other websites, and some of those links are to websites which contravene HubPages' standards.

    I wish Hubpages was more specific when it came to reasons for not featuring an article. I edited an article a couple of times not knowing the exact reason for being flagged "spammy" (there was only one amazon link, and it was of a product that I personally used and gave enough description about), till I realized maybe it is the extra links to Pixabay (crediting the images) that was the culprit. I had around 5. I removed a couple of images and it got featured after that. It took 4 submissions, and each time I had to wait for 24-48 hours to see if my edits solved the issue. Exhausting.

      If it's says "spammy" then at least you know it's definitely related to a link.  It's always a bad idea to link more than once to the same site.   

      If you are using Pixabay for several photos, there's an easy workaround.  Mention the photographer's name ("..... on Pixabay) in the capsule but don't hyperlink it. That's perfectly acceptable to Pixabay.
