Both of these articles took off in popularity within a month and then traffic has deteriorated ever since. There don't appear to be any copies at the moment although I've been having copies removed on a continuous basis over a year and a half. Not sure what happened and why they lost their traffic over time and never really recovered. Maybe the reason is just the site losing its ranking. The graph is total daily views for both guides.

I think the growing popularity of YouTube might also be responsible. I for one would prefer watching videos for these kinds of topics instead of reading.
So, this is a complete guess as I'm not familiar with the subject matter.
Are your readers mainly school-students? Perhaps the slowdown in views is linked to the complete closure of schools and colleges due to the coronavirus. You could check the demographics of your audience on Google Analytics.
Yes, I guess they are students at secondary or tertiary level. I thought the initial surge was because maybe this topic is covered in the curriculum early in the autumn and then maybe the peak in February is because of revision pre-exams. However the low level of traffic this September is a lot less than I thought it would be, even taking into account coronavirus. Maybe some schools are still not open?
About half-way down this UNESCO webpage is an interactive map of the world showing school closures at different dates.

You move the arrow on the right of the diagram to change the date and see how schools initially started to reopen around the world, but then started to close up once again.

My traffic appeared to be clawing its way back a couple of weeks ago. Now, it has dropped again. Two big accounts with significant content on 5 niche sites. All down. My main account is down to 2016 levels. Who can fix this? Maybe me. Maybe HubPages. Maybe Google. There is nothing I can do...

A few weeks ago, I posted some thoughts on why traffic is falling for many writers and what we might do about it. One of the things I considered is that massive rewrites and fresh articles may be the ticket to clawing back on some of these traffic drops. Here is some more food for thought on that...

Flipboard is a bit like Pinterest, as far as I can tell. I get traffic from it occasionally and am wondering about trying it.

Have you identified any attributes or layout style that could be making it so popular compared to others? The only thing I can pick out from my article with the highest traffic is that it has lots of line diagrams on a white background (which can be easily squashed with jpg compression and...

I can’t imagine that Matt has engineered you drop in traffic. Mine is about half what it was a few weeks ago. No idea why. People preoccupied by the coronavirus?

This might be a complete co-incidence, but I switched to the new profile a couple of days ago, and today Google is pretending it doesn't know me. Hubs that ranked on the first page for main keyword are not found in the first 10 pages. Even more worrying, I can't find them in Google even...
