Hi Hubbers,
I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. The email that was sent out does not have any specific feedback. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thanks!
Here is my article: Couples: The Hardest Demographic to Shop For! Tips & Suggestions for Christmas Shopping for Your Couple Friends (must be signed in to view)
Hi Sarah,
There are several issues...
You can mention the companies/websites by name but you need to remove the links. HubPages does not want you sending people off the page never to return. It would be better if you mentioned the gifts but left out the companies all together. You could always link to one or two through Amazon.
Alternatively, you could add a list of suppliers at the end of the article. I don't think live links would be acceptable, though you could try.
Your photos must be accredited and carry a Creative Commons commercial use license unless you have express permission to republish them.
Break up the big blocks of text into shorter paragraphs. Remember that people are reading on their phones and blocks of text are hard to read.
I also think you should try to shorten the title, although the format you are using is becoming more popular lately. "Suggestions for Gifts for Your Couple Friends" would tell your readers all they need to know about the content.
In the article summary, you have capitalised 'couple'.
I love your writing voice, you come across as approachable and 'normal'.
Thanks so much for the suggestions! I didn't think of the link issues, so for example, I can reference Uncommon Goods and a product from there but not the site?
Also, with the photos, those are photos I took myself so how do I do the creative commons commercial use license?
You can mention the Uncommon Goods product - it's the link that is problematic. HubPages views commercial links as 'overly promotional'.
That's great about the photos. Just say "Photo by author' in the capsule. Also add a caption as images appear as search results.
Edit: could you retake the puzzle photo? - It's blurry and images need to be top quality.
