The layout & separations of text is annoying..almost missing the end text with a large empty space left for ads or what. Ads separating text is not common sense...can I control this with editing? I liked the old layout for HubPages better...

Shift-enter, which creates a new line instead of a new paragraph, seems to  work instead of enter which creates a new paragraph. Anytime the ad placement scheme sees a new paragraph, it sees it as an opportunity to possibly place an ad.

Thank you eugbug for your reply...I’m on an iPad Pro and don’t recognize “shift-enter” I edit my pages under *author view in statistics. I also notices not all my pages have “author view” so I can’t edit them. It’s been frustrating to say the least.

This is a frequent complaint in this forum, so you are not alone. My understanding is that there's diddly-squat writers can do to change the placement of ads. Frustrating. If it helps, think of the ads as generating earnings for us.

Yes Rupert Taylor, that would be good “ads generating earnings” but that hasn’t happened in 6 years since being transferred here from Squidoo. Many times I just want to shutdown my pages...but the time spent creating them would have been a waste.

I usually use shift-enter to create new paragraphs to avoid the extra blank line. I wonder are there consequences of this as regards Google?

That’s a very good question! I’ve had nothing but problems including my other associations with Google since their changes...sadly I’m not a fan anymore.
