.....but don't add them as an Amazon link?

HubPages only supports US sales in the Amazon Program. That is why you can't use a UK Amazon link in our capsules. Amazon sites for other countries have completely different Associate Programs. It is possible to add a UK Amazon link in your article, but you will not be paid through HubPages for the sales.

But if you have a UK Amazon Associate's account, you could? And not be deemed spammy if done according to guidelines?

Yes, if you follow our guidelines it is acceptable. Make sure you use a text hyperlink, not a URL link.

I should have said "May we". So it is acceptable? Or can they only be non-affiliate links for informational purposes?

No sales yet. Strangely there were a huge number of clicks when I first included the link.

Wow, so many clicks not a single sale. I guess it could be due to clicks from the US and other non-European countries.

Possibly, I have specified that the product, an electrical tester, is only suitable for UK voltages. What's strange is that there were so many initial clicks, but this has dwindled to maybe only one or none per day. The article only received 30 views per day initially and this has dropped to about 20. I presume those other clicks were on other products after the initial click. Home and Garden commission on Amazon UK sales is still more lucrative at 7% versus 3% for Amazon.com.

That took long enough. Amazon UK still offers a generous 7% commission on home and garden products compared to 3% on Amazon.com.
