My very first hub on this page was instantly featured and started working really hard on my second article.
However because it was on Interior Design, I had included a lot of external links and amazon product capsules which I have now edited or removed.

Your bio states that you're a cat mom, but you have no cats. That doesn't make sense. The grammar is off. There are spots that are missing commas, and other spots that are using commas. Consider downloading a Grammarly plug in. I saw one run on sentence in the beginning. If you say and more than once, it's a run on sentence. Consider breaking it up into more than one sentence. Some sentences are hard to understand. For example, when one particular sentence says "when you place plants on a height..." It should say when you place plants on top of objects or on a higher surface. Grammarly can also help with that to an extent. When editing my articles, editors have removed amazon links if I did not personally use the exact product, such as the amazon link to the mirror. Bold words shouldn't be used unless in accordance with APA format. They should not be used to emphasize words. The same applies to words with all capital letters and italicized words. You have some great ideas, though!

    Hi there,

You must make sure your images are legal to use. They should have a Creative Commons license suitable for commercial use. Or, better still, use your own. Make sure you credit the originator and link to the source in the image capsule.

By the way, HubPages is not a blogging platform smile

If HubPages is not a blogging platform, then why does it publish poetry?

      Is HubPages a content farm?

HubPages is like a collection of online magazines with high quality articles and photos.  It is not a blogging platform or a content farm.

Blog (noun): "A shared on-line journal where people can post daily entries about their personal experiences and hobbies."

(P.S. 'Personal experiences' can be shared on HubPages on the 'creative writing' segment.)

HubPages is not set up for journalling.  If you spend time in the Learning Center, you will see that they are looking for high quality magazine type articles, not personal journals.

You can argue all you want but it won't change HubPages' policies.  Decisions about the content of articles published on the various HubPages platforms are made by the editors not you.

Yes, the images are copyright free, free for commercial and non-commercial use, and yet I got rejected. Should I stop trying to get it published or keep tweaking it? sad
Yes, I'll keep in mind it's not a blog.
Thank you for your time and consideration

I checked your article, it's quite good. It has already been moved to Discover.HubPages.com domain. This means it will get featured soon. Once featured, it can then be tracked by search~engines.

You're in the proper trajectory. Be light about it. You're doing well.

Thank you! I was confused about the same thing! As I am still in bootcamp I shouldn't have been published, but they did move me to discover.hubpages but the status keeps showing pending.
Thank You so much for your time and consideration! smile

This site is actively managed by Editors. They check and review contents personally. It's a human process. They shift good articles to the discover domain quite quickly.

If your article is showing "pending" status, that means that you have made changes in an article that the Editors had found to have issues. Be light about the entire thing. Don't get too serious about hubbing. This is a hobby, not a business.

Wait a few hours. Your article will pass the quality assessment process. I've reviewed your article, and I can personally testify that the said hub is a good material, and will surely get a nod from the Editors.

If you need good, commercially usable images, then try these 3 sites:

      1. https://www.google.com/advanced_image_search

      2. https://search.creativecommons.org/

      3. https://pixabay.com/

You need to note in the captions of your photos who took them and information on the license.  From the Learning Center:

      How to Attribute an Image
      Check the License
Do not use others' images unless they have a Creative Commons (CC) or Public Domain license. See a breakdown of the license types below.

      Cite the Source
When citing others' images, include the author name, license type, and source in the source bar of the Photo Capsule:

Bob Smith, CC BY-SA 2.0, via flickr

      Link to the Source
Also, be sure to link to the image's source page in the URL bar in the Photo Capsule.
