0I have a lot of ideas that I want to do here on HubPages. My main topic for now is writing and literature.
But I also want to branch my ideas out. I also want to be able to write about lifestyle and relationships.
I notice a lot of authors usually stick to one niche and one niche only. It makes me a little reluctant to get out of my niche.
Can I work on different topics or is it better to stick to only one?
Alot of writer's on Hubpages write on different topics.
You can be in more than one niche site.
You can! I love how I can publish a horror movie desire list on here in the morning yet spend the evening publishing cute cushion referrals on Amazon!
Athena, welcome to HubPages. They're many niche sites on Hubpages including lifestyle, gardening, parenting, medics, and natural health. In fact, the type of niche here to write about is vast. You're even free to write m on other yebsites other than hubpages.
Writing online requires consideration of how you project a sense of expertise and authority. Many writers on here deal with this by adopting a certain subject area which they explore in depth. This can be effective.
Others, like me, write on a variety of subjects. Perhaps the biggest headache for this approach is writing a profile biog that somehow covers all the bases. ![]()
We can write bios tailored to our individual articles? So if I write a garden article I can write a bio on my gardening skills and if I write an article on pets, I can write a bio about my expertise with pets. It's on the editing page. You click on the arrow in the bio section and it gives you the option to write an alternate bio.
Yes, there is short article biography and a longer profile biography. The article biography is not an issue for writing on multiple topics.
All the answers here have cleared my doubt as well as a new author.
It depends on how much one can cover. More and more variety, is welcome.
Writing variety of articles is good. Even if the author is a specialist say on biology, they even write on a book review as Alicia(Linda) recently did. But it's best one write on a topic within the bio framework.

Is it better to write hubs all in one niche or write about different things? So far, I have 13 Hubs published. I have been jumping around on topics, writing about what I am inspired to do some research on that day. I do have several focused on drug addiction, though. I wonder, is it better to write...

Writing has always been my way of talking when no-one is listening so finding HubPages is as good as picking up the phone and knowing there is someone on the other end of the line.My problem is that I have so much to write about I don't know what my niche is or if I even want one. What do you think...

Hi everyone, I'm glad to say one of my articles has been published and featured. After two failed attempts on different topics, I started fresh and familiarised myself with the hubpages site, spent a few hours reading the forum questions and answers here which I found most useful when it came to...

A pretty obvious question, really. Is it allowed? If yes, is there anything I need to consider before going ahead?

i started hubbing about fashion, but I would like to hub about other things. Should I just stick to the fashion to seem together, or should I different topics?
