Headers (H2) on Mobile Look Very Strange (Bug?)

The font size for H2s appears absurdly small on mobile. It is smaller than regular text, and when it appears near an H3 or even bolded text it is hard to tell it is even a header. Even if it is still an H2 in the code, it has to have readers scratching their heads.

I am wondering if this is a bug because it looks really odd. I just noticed a couple of days ago but maybe it has been this way for a while.

I am using an Android phone with the Samsung browser if that matters.

On Chrome and Firefox, H2s are huge, nearly 3 times the size of regular text.

You mean on desktop or mobile? On desktop they look about right to me on Chrome. H2s should be bigger than text, and H3 should be bigger than text but smaller than H2.

On Android mobile. Apparently size is set by CSS and also the font scaling a web user uses on their system. I started reading about it but it got complicated and I only know the basics of HTML!

I just checked this on my iPhone with Safari and the H2's are clearly obvious as subheadings, much larger than text and almost as large as the H1 title. I wonder if your discovery is only with Android phones using the Samsung browser.

Maybe so. That's sort of good news at least.

I'll check on my Samsung tablet and also download the samsung browser to my phone (I presume it's available as an app and not built into the operating system?)

I just loaded up Chrome for my phone and it appears correctly with that browser. It must be specific to the Samsung browser.

That's good, I suppose. As long as it looks right for most readers.

Is it possible that there was a recent update to the Samsung browser that messed it up?

Maybe. I did update a few days ago.

I downloaded the Samsung browser and I'm seeing the same behaviour that you describe.

That appears to be the culprit. I don't know if there is anything HP can do about it or if it is even worth addressing. I was concerned it was an issue on HP's end but that doesn't seem to be the case. Thanks for checking!
