I wrote tons of articles for a client. I am looking at applying my research to travel articles. I have a few articles on WW. They are doing better since Maven took over. What do you think? Does anyone have positive feedback for WW?
I've written more for that niche in recent times, both on the subject of Florida (where I live), and also some of the places around the world that I've visited. Some articles do well there. Perhaps the only downside I've found is that many destinations/topics have already been extensively covered by others.
(Well, another downside is that it was heavily hit by the pandemic, but I expect that to change soon.)
Paul, the pandemic has hit travel hard. That's a good point: "destinations/topics have already..."
I will have to peruse the articles to make sure they are still unique.
Looking at SEMRUSH, WW has lost a third of its traffic in the last two years, which isn't good. But a chunk of that loss occurred in March last year, so was likely COVID related.
On the plus side, CPM's for travel topics are often better than some other subjects. So you have to get relatively less traffic to earn.
I think the trick is, as usual, to find something that hasn't been covered heavily, yet still has a lot of people searching for it.
Paul, thanks for the data. That is interesting. I will have to research the topics and see if it's viable.
Most of my articles are on WW. The pandemic had a big negative effect, but recently there has been an improvement. Travel is my main area of interest, so I will carry on in the hope that as we move out of the pandemic there will be renewed interest.
Thank you for the information. This is helpful. I've read your articles they are very informative and personal.

Anyone else noticing the trend? Traffic for the last few days has been dismal.

When I first began writing here at HP I was terrible, but I still got moved to Soapboxie with ease. Now that I've improved, I can't get a single article through to that specific niche site. My three best articles on Soapboxie, allegedly, are as follows:https://soapboxie.com/us-politics/Polit...

Since HubPages is changing their focus to feeding their new niche sites, where will you be moving your hubs that don't fit the new sites?I highly doubt they'll make any new sites that have anything to do with any of the topics I write on the way I write on them so I'll likely need new homes for all...

Thanks to Amazon being 2 months behind, I'll still get a good payout in October. After labor day though my earnings dropped like a rock (as expected) This months payout will still exceed $1200.00.. So during this unseasonal down time is when I edit and write more articles.. Hope HP hangs in there....

What is more fun? Writing dozens of articles for a niche or writing all sorts of articles from holidays to teeth whitening? And leave aside the fun, what about the money - which has more potential? What would you rather do as a writer on HP - niche writing or free lancing?
