I would like to hear from Hubbers that have been hear a while on how long they give an article to gain traffic. There are some I have that I think are really strong and relay a lot of useful information (those I don't really want to get rid of), while a some others could really generate lots of money if they ever get going. Any advice?

Unpublish. Give them a good edit and republish on another platform, such as Medium smile

I never delete any of my articles.  I just refresh them every year.  Some articles catch on right away and others can take a few years.

I was deleting old articles they don't get views. But now unless I plan on moving them somewhere else I just leave them be and work on writing new ones.

The best that I've did is update or modified the title...just the title and wait for a jump in traffic.

I'd leave them where they are unless you have something else to do with them. I've had some start to get more popular after a year or so...
Others that probably never will, but I can't see much point in deleting- I might update one day.

Depending on topic Pinterest can sometimes generate traffic- could be worth trying.

I have deleted dozens of articles over the years. Sometimes I will just update an article, rewriting some sections, putting up new videos, etc. If they are being read of course I keep them.

As a novice(a writer in ignorance state) can still be a nut after years. I try deleting an article...but I ignorantly hit the unpublished button.                                             Well, it linger for years, I try editing some of my old articles. When I came to it, it says "only you can see this article...". I edit and pronto, it flies!

I very rarely delete an article, unless it is years old, and despite updates it is and still on HubPages. Then I may decide to transfer it elsewhere. Often, though, just sharing on Pinterest is enough to give a boost in traffic that can last for weeks.

Thank you. I'm taking note. I think I should start to pin my articles to Pinterest.

Thanks for the input everyone. I do like to add regularly to many of my articles, and while I don't have hundreds of articles like some people here, I am starting to notice that I do have a few.
