I submitted an article titled Earth Day April 22, 2022, and received an email from the editor. It read it HAS TO BE CURRENT TO BE CONSIDERED. I am at a loss as it is a current article and an annual event?
Why exactly is it not acceptable for Owlcation?
I guess it has to be something with the title.Owlcation only accepts historical/educational articles and your articles Earth Day April 22, 2022 appears to be in the future. This is my guess.
You are writing about something that hasn't happened yet.
If you wrote about Earth Day in general or if you wait until it is over and write about events that happened on that day your article would be evergreen.
As it stands, it only has value between now and April 22. It's not evergreen and its not historical.
Get rid of the date in the title and don't reference it in the article. Keep it general, informative, and well-written and it'll probably be accepted.

Hello Hubbers,I don't ever remember placing one of my serious articles in 'Satire and Parody' and under 'humour writing.' Has HP automatically changed the category or something's wrong?

I'm taken aback by some of the interesting articles I have been reading here on HP and the niche sites. They are well-written evergreen articles that are very relevant in terms of content and topic, but I'm reluctant in engaging with them. When I see articles written from 3, 4, 5 years ago and...

I have a suggestion. At the bottom of the article you can choose to add a copyright, which includes the date. I used to put my own in without the date, but you can't do that anymore. The reason I did it that way is because I think, when people see a date of several years ago on an article, they...
