Earnings and Views Putrid is it better on Medium with Ukraine topics?

HP earnings and views are tanking to levels of my first year online (earnings that is, views are certainly better).  What's up at medium?  Are they gobbling up Ukrainian tales or is the world transfixed on news images of the horror. If they are, is there any money in it?

Are other sites doing great in the pet sector...Am I the last one out? Should I be sure to turn off the lights before the door hits me in the a$$?

Have you applied to write for Spruce Pets? It might be a good alternative for you. (Not sure any of the sites are doing that well but I am not terribly informed about them.)
I have been wondering the same thing about HP since my earnings have plummeted so badly since the first of the year.
I certainly would not try to write about Ukrania!

I thought about it briefly, but I think a day job would be more rewarding financially.

          Yes, I agree with that.

Medium's good for current events like Ukraine, though it takes time to get established there, especially since they changed the rules so you need 100 followers to earn anything.

Pet articles do badly at Medium in my experience. I don't know of anywhere better than HP for this type of topic with writing and earning sites, though I'd be interested to hear from others.

It feels like the niche sites have been picked off one by one. That said, I've seen some embers of a possible recovery recently, but it's starting from a very low base.

Requiring people to have 100 followers to earn is bogus.  It stinks and it smells of Bubblews trickery.  They aren't making the money they need to, to maintain payments, so they make it harder and harder for writers to earn money, changing the rules incessantly.  I am sorry I was conned into joining them.  I will not renew.

Comparing them with Bubblews is maybe too harsh. But I think you're right that they enticed writers in with bigger payments, then tightened their purse strings. They seem to change direction regularly.
