I had never heard the term "fun police," but you made sense of it and how to counteract it. https://discover.hubpages.com/animals/D … olice-Role
Hi Peggy, thanks for sharing! It's not a very popular term, but it fit very well my female Rottweiler's behavior when she would watch other dogs play with a very serious look on her face. She would literally get wrinkles on her forehead as soon as things started to get a little "too wild" for her taste. I had to hold her back initially as she wanted to take off and "go moderate the play," so to say. Great memories!
I enjoyed it too! When my ACD starts wrestling with my Lab my senior Pitbull gets upset and acts the role of fun police. As you mentioned, she does not even care if it is dogs she does not know.
She gets that serious look with wrinkles too!
That serious, wrinkled-forehead look is so expressive! I can imagine your Pitbull displaying it. Makes one wonder what they would be saying if they could talk. We used to joke around and say that our Rottweiler was getting ready to raise her "yellow penalty card" as soon as she felt things were getting too exuberant or sensed that trouble was brewing.
Sorry to hear about your Rotties passing (read your comment on another post). My oldest Pitbull is 12 now so I know it is inevitable but am doing my best to postpone the day. She still likes to swim when I take her to the river but will not jump in the pool anymore.
At this point she can raise her yellow card as often as she wants and I do not "boo" her!
Adrienne's articles about dogs are always excellent, and this article is no exception. I like the wonderful suggestion.
Thank you doe posting this article Peggy.

Also, why they do it. We once had to redecorate our living room because one of your young dogs destroyed the couch and a matching chair. Live and learn! https://discover.hubpages.com/animals/H … -the-Couch

I've been updating and removing hubs. I haven't settled on a plan for good hubs that don't get traffic. Curious what others do. My top 40 hubs are 85% of traffic. I culled the heard and have been focused on my best hubs.Once I'm through them I'll come up with a plan for the rest.

Hi all!I had a Amazon product link removed because apparently it didn't meet the necessary requirements. The link went out to the book I have used as a reference in the article and have paraphrased the authors' statements. Doesn't this imply that I have personally used this book? I own this book...

Took my 3 doggies (a mini doxie and two chihuahuas) to the dog park this afternoon for their 4th of July celebration. Was there for about an hour with all of the dogs (about 30 of them, big and small) having a great time. Then the pitbulls started coming. One pit came in through the gate with his...
