An interesting article about how TAG is using AI to produce articles on these sites.

Does it say anything about Pethelpful and Dengarden? The site has a firewall and I cannot read it.

I just noticed I can't read it from the direct link either. However I can read it by following TAG's link on Twitter. I presume this is how some of the "news" stories on these sites are being written.

I can't read it either, but I did find other sources for the story. Some mention PetHelpful and Dengarden in passing.

On one hand, they are saying AI can never replace "journalism, reporting, or crafting and editing a story".

Then, they give examples of how they used AI to create new articles using content from their own library of stories in Men's Journal.

Is that what is going to happen here? Will editors be using existing content on sites like PetHelpful to create new articles? That's what the story seems to suggest.

I see a lot of benefits to it otherwise --  as long as they aren't using it to build new articles and cut writers out of the revenue stream.

This just back from TAG on Twitter in response to my query:

"We aren’t publishing AI-generated content - we are publishing human created, AI-curated, human-edited content. Great tools to amplify the productivity and capabilities of talented people!"

    What does "AI-curated" mean?

It seems to mean an editor will use AI to "curate" content from already existing articles and make a new article.

AI is not being used by staff for article creation on DenGarden, PetHelpful, or any of our other Network Sites. The Wall Street Journal article is inaccurate in that regard.
