How Can I Get Google to Index This?

This tutorial from 2019 has been deindexed by Google.com and Google.co.uk (or maybe it was never indexed) for the search term "rules of logarithms". It is indexed on other flavours of Google. I guess it's partially due to the fall in ranking of the site or Google dumping old evergreen articles in favour of new stuff.

I had a quick read through - I went straight back to my double maths session on a Wednesday afternoon at school. Torture!

But it's clearly presented and has a decent mix of word/graph/formulae. I wonder, how many of these types of article have you? Are others deindexed?

I guess you have the option to split this article into several of good length and concentrate on specific detail for each subject. That's a lot of work of course but might be worth your while if they pass muster and get to a niche site.

If time is tight for you perhaps just lengthen (or shorten?) this original article and submit as per normal.

If you have similar formatted original articles, say three or four of the same length, do them up and see how each one performs?

It's tough at present for us veterans. We were encouraged like hell to produce evergreen and did so and helped HP thrive but now it seems all that good work has gone down the Google drain. Having said that, my evergreen articles (I've hundreds on Owlcation) are still there but have been hammered like many others so do not rank as high.

I'd be interested to learn of your experiences with this deindexed article.

It never got a lot of traffic and only peaked at 70 per week in 2021, so I guess part of the problem may be the competition. Now something I've just noticed is that my copy of this article on medium is actually ranking, so I'm in competition with myself. I'm going to have to delete that, even though I did  set a canonical link. The second part of the Medium title is different though.
