    Howdy! I just went to Google Analytics. I have not been there in maybe a year. It led me down a road to upgrade to Google Analytics 4. So, now I don't have any HubPages info available to me or anything really. What up with that?

    I have read tid-bits in this Forum that HubPages will handle it and not to worry. But, I am! Should I not have updated to the new 4 version? By doing that will what HubPages is going to do not happen now?

    Any info and/or experience will be helpful along with advice.

    Thanking in advance . . .

      It's all in hand according to Matt Wells. He's repeatedly informed us over the months on various forum threads that HP will take care of the upgrade. He'll probably pop in on this one if enough people comment!

        Thanks!! My main concern is I updated to Analytics 4 as was encouraged/instructed when I signed in at Analytics. My hope is that won't throw a monkey wrench into the HP works of their conversion.

        I hope Matt does offer some info.

    Google Analytics delivers incredible detail. How else would I know how many one-legged, Welsh, taxi drivers were viewing my articles? No price is too high to pay for such insights.

    The unfortunate thing, as far as I understand, is that we'll lose all our historical stats on GA, once we change over to GA4. We can export the data, but there's no comparison between viewing trends in GA and viewing imported stats in e.g. Excel.

      That is an important point!! Thanks for bringing it to my attention! Curious, I just checked and the source I found said if you make the switch before July 1 the end date historical data will be preserved.

      Yet, skimming the article it seems hazy. It says there are four possible routes to preserve your historical data. I will read later one day this week. The link below is the article.

      How to Preserve Google Analytics’ Historical Data?

      Another choice from Search Engine Journal;

      Getting Ready For GA4: Saving Your Historical Data
      https://www.searchenginejournal.com/ga4 … 519/#close

      I don't know if I can do the recommendations since I have switched to GA4 now. I will have to investigate.
